Rebecca Spencer, who premiered the role of Madame Giry to critical acclaim in Phantom-The Las Vegas Spectacular, will don the black dress again when she joins the world tour of The Phantom of the Opera this month in Manila and early 2013 in Seoul, South Korea. Spencer portrayed Madame Giry for more than two years in Sin City.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's megamusical THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, based on the French novel 'Le Fantôme de l'Opéra' by Gaston Leroux, gets its Philippine premiere after 24 years since the production opened on Broadway. An international touring production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, featuring cast members from the United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia, and South Africa, runs at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' main theater from Saturday, August 25 to Sunday, October 14. Tickets go on sale to general public starting Tuesday, May 1. The Australian Production of LOVE NEVER DIES, Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, is set to open at Melbourne's Regent Theatre next May, with a creative team that features Simon Phillips as director, Graeme Murphy as choreographer and Gabriela Tylesova as set and costume designer. The sequel is set in 1907 in New York's Coney Island theme park, where the Phantom has resided since fleeing the Paris Opera House a decade earlier - and where he lures Christine in a final bid to win back her love.

Reps for LOVE NEVER DIES have confirmed to the New York Times this morning that indeed the production will not open on Broadway as planned in the Spring of 2011. Adrian Bryan-Brown of the Boneau Bryan Brown agency wrote in an e-mail to the Times: '‘Love Never Dies' will not be opening on Broadway this Spring...Further news about the show will be announced shortly.'
