Theatre Group (ATG), the world's number one live-theatre group, has today announced that DAVID LAZAR has been promoted to the newly created role of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR to be based in their London head office and has also joined the company's worldwide Executive Board. He will also continue in his current role as CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - New York with oversight of ATG's North American activity.

In this new role, David will be working closely with ATG's Joint CEO & Creative Director, SIR HOWARD PANTER, and in collaboration with the company's Executive Directors to help source, develop, and produce content (both in the UK and internationally) and will also be focussed on the international expansion of the Group's activities.

SIR HOWARD PANTER, said "I am thrilled that David with be relocating to London and working closely with me on the expansion of our group. David has played a vital role, over the past seven years, in establishing our presence in New York within the Broadway community and he will continue in that capacity as well. This appointment reflects our focus on growth and establishing an internationally diverse and experienced Executive Board."

LAZAR said: "To join Howard, Rosemary, and the rest of my colleagues in London, is a truly exciting opportunity for me and my family. I look forward to this next phase of our company's expansion and working closely with our entire UK team on a daily basis. I am also very pleased that continuing my responsibilities for our North American activity will allow me to remain very connected with the Broadway community."

Last year, ATG expanded its international operations in Australia and Asia with the appointment of Tim McFarlane based in Sydney, and through a US based subsidiary, also acquired The Lyric, the largest Broadway theatre.

Prior to joining ATG and establishing its New York office in early 2007, Lazar was Executive Vice President - Business Affairs for Live Nation's Theatrical Division in the US (and its predecessors, PACE Theatrical Group, SFX Entertainment, Clear Channel Entertainment).
