New Ohio Theatre and The Mill announced today that the New York premiere of Mark Chrisler's WORSE THAN TIGERS, directed by Jaclyn Biskup, will extend through September 8, 2018. The limited engagement plays at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Previews begin August 24 for an August 26 opening.

Digital star Jimmy Wong and Doua Moua have been cast as Ling and Po, respectively, in Disney's live-action Mulan adaptation, according to Variety. The film is currently in production and it stars Yifei Liu as Mulan.

This September, Joe's Pub at The Public kicks off its 20th Anniversary year, celebrating two decades of presenting the best in live music and performance nightly with a commitment to diversity, production values, community, and artistic freedom. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. Production on Disney's “Mulan,” a live-action adaptation of the studio's 1998 animated feature, has begun. The film will shoot on locations in New Zealand and China and will open in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2020.

Ashley Fure's and Adam Fure's THE FORCE OF THINGS: AN OPERA FOR OBJECTS--one of this week's unusual attractions at Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival--took place at Brooklyn's Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. As far as I could tell, that first sentence was filled with misnomers: no recognizable opera, no Mozart--and no classical ballet either.
