Celebration Theatre announces that the third and final show in its 2017-2018 season, the smash-hit, critically acclaimed production of CABARET

New Ohio Theatre and The Mill announced today that the New York premiere of Mark Chrisler's WORSE THAN TIGERS, directed by Jaclyn Biskup, will extend through September 8, 2018. The limited engagement plays at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Previews begin August 24 for an August 26 opening.

Digital star Jimmy Wong and Doua Moua have been cast as  Ling and Po, respectively, in Disney's live-action Mulan adaptation, according to Variety. The film is currently in production and it stars Yifei Liu as Mulan. 

This September, Joe's Pub at The Public kicks off its 20th Anniversary year, celebrating two decades of presenting the best in live music and performance nightly with a commitment to diversity, production values, community, and artistic freedom. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. There will also be a change in leadership at Joe's Pub - Alex Knowlton will become Director of Joe's Pub, as Shanta Thake will inaugurate a new role at The Public Theater as Senior Director of Artistic Programs.

Production on Disney's “Mulan,” a live-action adaptation of the studio's 1998 animated feature, has begun. The film will shoot on locations in New Zealand and China and will open in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2020. 

On Sunday, August 19th and Monday August 20th, 2018, the national food sport series Culinary Fight Club, will host its annual two-day Grand Championship Competition at Morgan MFG. location 401 N. Morgan St. Day one will be Culinary Fight Fest during which 20 Culinary Fight Club champion professional chefs from nine states will bring their best 'bites' - small hors d'oeuvres - for the audience to taste and vote on. The chefs with the top four bites will advance to day two, The Final Plate, where they will go head to head in a 45-minute mystery basket challenge, using a mystery basket of unknown ingredient to create the one champion gourmet dish. A jury of judges will vote on the winning plate and the 2018 Grand Champion will be awarded $5,000 in cash $5,000 in prizes, competition branded Chef Coats and the coveted Culinary Fight Fest trophy. Ashley Fure's and Adam Fure's THE FORCE OF THINGS: AN OPERA FOR OBJECTS--one of this week's unusual attractions at Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival--took place at Brooklyn's Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. As far as I could tell, that first sentence was filled with misnomers: no recognizable opera, no Mozart--and no classical ballet either. But what the piece may lack in clarity, it gains in its boundary-stretching reminder that while we're sitting around, going about our business, climate change is happening. Now.

Southbank Centre's China Changing Festival returns from Thursday 4 - Sunday 7 October 2018 for a four-day grand finale showcasing contemporary Chinese culture, and its creative connection with the UK. Launched in December 2016, this three year international festival returns to London, for the final time, presenting some of the most innovative artists practising in China today and celebrating inspiring work from British-based Chinese and South East Asian artists.

Vineyard Theatre and Developing Artists will partner again to present Developing Artists' REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival, Thursday through Saturday August 9-18 at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). Since the festival's inception in 2001, REBEL VERSES has provided young artists, ages 13-19, with the opportunity to collaborate and network with their peers and prominent artists, and to showcase their original work. This two-week event, now in its second season Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre, will feature over one hundred artists and performers from ten young-artist companies hailing from all five boroughs of New York City and beyond.

Full casting has been announced for Rain Man, the inaugural production of Bill Kenwright's Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company. 'Broken Wings' is an autobiographical tale of tragic love based on Lebanese-born poet Kahlil Gibran's 1912 masterpiece, with Book Music & Lyrics by West End star Nadim Naaman ('The Phantom of the Opera') and Music and Lyrics by Dana Al Fardan, one of the Middle East's leading contemporary composers.

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, announces adventurous international and LA performances featured in the ambitious new Fall 2018 season at REDCAT, including stunning stagecraft and object theater from Rotterdam, the world premiere of a new dance and video work by LA company David Rousseve/Reality, a slyly funny and poignant collaboration by German/British collective Gob Squad with six LA performers, a hilarious political musical-theater project by art collective My Barbarian, and the return of Christiane Jatahy with a Brazilian take on Chekhov's Three Sisters, which uses genius film techniques.
