Jazz pianist Matt Baker returns to the Birdland stage (315 West 44th Street NYC 10036) with the world premier of a BRAND NEW project: A Rhapsody of Gershwin on Monday, March 18th at 7:00 pm. This show presents a whole new spin on the music one of America's most celebrated composers, with an all-star lineup from the heart of New York's jazz scene. Joining Matt Baker - Piano; are Endea Owens - double bass; Curtis Nowosad - drums; Alex Goodman - guitar; and special guests: Benny Benack III - trumpet & voice; and Grammy nominated vocalist Nicole Zuraitis. This is Gershwin, like you've never heard it. Comprising music from Crazy for You, Porgy and Bess and An American in Paris, plus other exciting gems from the classical and popular worlds of George Gershwin, including the haunting Concerto in F! The cover for the show is only $30 with a $10 food / drink minimum. The doors will open at 5:00 pm.

An 8-time Grammy nominee over the course of her esteemed career, Sutton has received seven consecutive nominations for Best Jazz Vocal Album - one for every project she has released over the last decade. In 2013 she released After Blue, a jazz-inspired re-imagining of the legacy of Joni Mitchell.

Acclaimed jazz singer Sara Gazarek will make her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut on Thursday, July 12 at 8 p.m. In this intimate evening, Gazarek will perform songs from her albums 'Dream in the Blue,' 'Blossom & Bee,' and 'Return to You,' as well as other fan favorites. Gazarek will be joined on-stage by pianist Peter Eldridge of New York Voices.

For more than thirty years, Turtle Island Quartet has reinvented the role of the modern string quartet through its Grammy-winning albums and arrangements. This spring, the Quartet honors the impact of legendary saxophonist Charlie Parker with a new album, Bird's Eye View, out February 9, 2018 from Azica.
