The costumes are exquisite, the score is as fresh as it was when it first premiered, and the lighting and sound are phenomenal, but there is a muted quality to the production.

On Saturday, August 28th, Brooklynites can commemorate the Battle of Brooklyn, fought in 1776 on land that is now a part of The Green-Wood Cemetery. It was the first battle of the American Revolution to occur after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Tony, Grammy and Emmy winning Hadestown star André De Shields opened his theatrical concert, Black By Popular Demand: A Musical Meditation On How Not To Be Eaten By The Sphinx, at Feinstein's/54 Below on August 3, with performances through August 7.

Producer Jeffrey Seller today announced Broadway casting for Hamilton when performances resume September 14, 2021 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. In addition, the Richard Rodgers box office (226 West 46th Street) will reopen on August 2, 2021 at 10:00 am.

The Denver Art Museum announced the exhibition Whistler to Cassatt: American Painters in France, set to premiere at DAM Nov. 14, 2021. The exhibition will feature more than 100 paintings made between 1855 and 1913 in the first comprehensive examination of France's stylistic impact on American painting of the period.

Hennepin Theatre Trust has announced the theater accomplishments of students and schools participating in the Trust's Spotlight Education program for the 2020-2021 academic year. As the Trust's premier education program, Spotlight Education supports and honors Minnesota high school students and programs focused on theater.

After what will be a 23-month intermission, The Muny's 103rd season will open with the Muny premiere of Smokey Joe's Cafe, followed by The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, On Your Feet! and Chicago.

The producers of HAMILTON have today officially confirmed that the Tony, Grammy, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize winning musical will play in Melbourne, at Her Majesty's Theatre from 16 March 2022.

Colonial Williamsburg is showcasing its past with live theater on the streets. The town features actors portraying iconic figures in history, including Emily James as Edith Cumbo, a free woman of color who once walked the streets of Williamsburg. She chats with tourists, teaching them about Cumbo's past. She has been playing the role for a decade.

Due to its ongoing discovery of the technical needs of producing virtual theatre, and to ensure the best possible production for its audience, SpeakEasy Stage Company is delaying the streaming dates for its production of TJ LOVES SALLY 4 EVER by one week.  The show will now stream from Friday, April 30 through Thursday, May 13.
