New York's eternally boundary-pushing theater company Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director and Brittany O'Neill, Managing Director) has announced that it will present the Off Broadway premiere of The Talk, a new American play by Frank Pugliese, directed by Sheryl Kaller.

New Theatre kicks off the season with one of the Bard's most accessible romantic comedies, As You Like It (August 14 - September 14, 2008,) which follows Shakespeare's gorgeous heroine, Rosalind, into a forest of possibilities. The nature of true love versus romantic love are put to the test amidst misunderstandings, gender confusions, and mistaken identities. The season moves from this adaptation of Shakespeare's classic comedy to New Theatre's first World Premiere of the season, The Rant by Andrew Case (September 25 - October 26, 2008.) Scott Cohen (Drunk Enough To Say I Love You at The Public, Losing Louie on Broadway, tv's Gilmore Girls + The Return of Jezebel James) has joined the cast of season opener THREE CHANGES by Nicky Silver. This completes casting for the first show of the season, which starts previews August 22 and also features Dylan McDermott and Maura Tierney.

Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Dylan McDermott has joined the cast of Playwrights Horizon's first production of the new season, the World Premiere of THREE CHANGES, a new play by Nicky Silver. Directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), the production will begin previews on Friday, August 22, 2008 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, September 16. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, September 28 at Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will continue this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the world premiere of Rajiv Joseph's Animals Out of Paper, directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Beginning previews Monday, July 14 at Second Stage Theatre's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on Broadway at 76th Street, Animals Out of Paper will feature Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kellie Overbey, and Jeremy Shamos.

Playwrights Horizons has announced additional details for its 2008/2009 Season, including the final two productions of the six-play season. Jonathan Groff, Maura Tierney, and Annette O'Toole have been announced to star in three of the plays being presented.

New Theatre launches into 2009 season with the World Premiere of Robert Caisley's Kissing (January 15 -February 15, 2009.) This biologically ticking comedy heats up after an illicit office kiss sends the lives of two couples spinning out-of-control. The second classic of the season, Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie runs from February 26 - March 29, 2009. The lyrical and powerful autobiographical play by Williams is noted as one of the great masterpieces of American drama and the winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.
