New Theatre kicks off the season with one of the Bard's most accessible romantic comedies, As You Like It (August 14 - September 14, 2008,) which follows Shakespeare's gorgeous heroine, Rosalind, into a forest of possibilities. The nature of true love versus romantic love are put to the test amidst misunderstandings, gender confusions, and mistaken identities. Directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), the production will begin previews on Friday, August 22, 2008 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, September 16. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, September 28 at Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

New Theatre launches into 2009 season with the World Premiere of Robert Caisley's Kissing (January 15 -February 15, 2009.) This biologically ticking comedy heats up after an illicit office kiss sends the lives of two couples spinning out-of-control. The second classic of the season, Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie runs from February 26 - March 29, 2009. The lyrical and powerful autobiographical play by Williams is noted as one of the great masterpieces of American drama and the winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.
