A sparkling new high-tech production of the Tony and Academy Award-winning musical 'Dreamgirls' is coming to the Gallo Center for the Arts for five performances today through Sunday, January 11 -13.

MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL founder Berry Gordy as well as the show's cast, and creative team discuss the highly anticipated musical, coming to Broadway this spring. 'I turned my story into a Broadway musical because I felt that all of the incredible fans and all of the world deserved to hear the real story of how Motown happened,' explains Gordy. ABC's New Year's festivities kick off at 8:00 p.m., ET with "New Year's Rockin' Eve Celebrates Dick Clark," a two-hour countdown of key pop culture moments from the amazing life of Dick Clark, hosted by Fergie in Los Angeles and Jenny McCarthy from Times Square. The special celebrates, through clips from "American Bandstand" and reminiscences, the legendary television personality and producer who rang in the New Year for four decades and who was an instrumental force in launching and nurturing the careers of countless artists. Ryan Seacrest also joins the hosts for a special appearance in honor of Dick Clark.

FOX OPERATOR BILL MALONE OF FX ARTS will present the second production of its 2012-2013 BROADWAY SERIES of shows with the Tony Award-winning masterwork, DREAMGIRLS. DREAMGIRLS will dazzle audiences on Thursday, January 10 at the Fox Performing Arts Center, 3801 Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside.

Legendary performer Diana Ross, Smash star Megan Hilty, chart-topping recording star Demi Lovato, The Voice favorite Chris Mann and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery are set to ring in the holiday season as they come together in the nation's capital for TNT's annual CHRISTMAS IN WASHINGTON special. In addition, the concert will close with a special performance by 'Gangnam Style' sensation PSY.

Today in 1981, Dreamgirls opened at the Imperial Theatre, where it ran for 1521 performances. Based upon the show business aspirations and successes of R&B acts such as The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, and others, the musical follows the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois called 'The Dreams', who become music superstars. It was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical, and won six. It was later adapted into a motion picture from DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures in 2006.

Over the last two weeks, GLEE has bravely taken on a catalog comprising everything from David Bowie and Simon & Garfunkel to FOOTLOOSE, PROMISES, PROMISES, the Scissor Sisters, Kelly Clarkson and fun., to say nothing of Psy's current worldwide smash hit "Gangnam Style", and, in so doing, it is clearly showing no signs of slowing down - actually, its amped up. Mashing up the New Directions of the original glee club with the new crew comprised of GLEE PROJECT winners and new faces, to say nothing of the Season Four additional storyline following the New York City-set travails of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) with guest stars Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker, both "Dynamic Duets", written and directed by co-creator Ian Brennan, and "Thanksgiving", written by Russel Friend & Garrett Lerner, directed by Bradley Buecker, also introduced anomalous themes into the GLEE universe while juggling everything else - namely: super heroes and a holiday tribute, Thanksgiving. While this week's episode was perhaps more generally amiable and appealing and certainly more successful in its overall execution and worthy place in the upper half of the episode stack four seasons in, last week packed a plosive "Pow!" of a punch insofar as its appreciable visuals and creative utilization of the tried and true tropes of comic book lore, new and old.

According to Wlf Trap's official website, Jennifer Holliday, the Queen of Broadway Gospel returns to Dreamgirls, the six-time Tony-winning musical that recounts an all-girl group's rise to stardom, featuring R&B hits like "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going."
