MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL Announces Performances at JFK Airport

American Airlines, which has served the New York market for more than 80 years, has been named the Official Airline of MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL. With a keen understanding of the needs of New York customers, the airline offers a long-standing commitment to the Greater New York community. American's sponsorship highlights its support of arts and entertainment and complements its portfolio as the Official Airline of more than 30 Broadway theaters in New York City.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL features a book by Berry Gordy and music and lyrics from the Motown legendary catalog, this exhilarating show tells the real story of the one-of-a-kind sound that hit the airwaves in 1959 and changed America forever. It charts Motown founder and Detroit native Berry Gordy's incredible journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross and The Supremes, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Marvin Gaye and many more.

As the Official Airline of MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL, American will bring special performances to its Terminal 8 at JFK International Airport. Cast members from MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL will entertain customers with such hits as "Ball of Confusion", "Tracks of My Tears", "You're All I Need To Get By" and "I'll Be There" as part of the American Airlines Concert Series at JFK. The free performances will take place on April 26 and May 10 at 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

American Airlines Terminal 8 at JFK combines the latest technology enhancements to offer a world-class facility for today's travelers. The spacious Terminal 8 - with 1.5 million square feet in all - is the largest single-airline terminal at JFK and offers 53,000 square feet of retail space offering duty-free shopping as well as world-renowned brands and top-of-the-line quality products.

In addition to airport performances, next month, American will host a sweepstakes for a chance to win a grand prize musical journey to New York City, including:
