Tonight, March 12 at 7pm The League of Independent Theater will hold a Meet The Candidates event at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in order to endorse pro-arts candidates in the 2013 City Election Cycle. Selected candidates will be invited to speak on the arts issues currently facing our city, and what they will do for the performing arts, if elected. Candidates confirmed at press time include Tom Allon (Mayoral), Julie Menin (Manhattan Borough President), Letitia James (Public Advocate), Corey Johnson (CC Manhattan 3), Yetta Kurland (CC Manhattan 3) Mel Wymore (CC Manhattan 6), Cheryl Pahaham (CC Manhattan 7), Angel Molina (CC Bronx 8), Matthew Silverstein (CC Queens 19), and Kimberly Council (CC Brooklyn 37).

The Play About The Coach runs from tonight, February 27 to March 17, 2013 in a limited engagement at the 4th Street Theatre, located at 83 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery in New York City. Frog and Peach Theatre Company will present a star-studded reading of Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' today, February 26 at The Player's Club, 16 Grammercy Park South, with a cast including Austin Pendleton as Angelo and Darrell Hammond as Pompey, together with Frog and Peach company members Ted Zurkowski as Lucio, Amy Frances Quint as Isabel, Eric Doss as Provost, Ryan Tramont as Escalus, Erick Gonzalez as Claudio and Jonathan Reed Wexler as Elbow. An original score by Ian McDonald (King Crimson, Foreigner) will be performed live by Mr. McDonald.
