Project Shaw Presents THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE Tonight, 9/24

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW starts the season with THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE - George Bernard Shaw's famous comedy set against the unlikely backdrop of the American Revolution, using fictional and historical characters - tonight, September 24 at 7pm at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. Satellite Ballet Brings WAREHOUSE UNDER THE HUDSON and EPISTASIS to NY, 11/2

Satellite Ballet will present two ballets that showcase the company's commitment to complete collaborationon Friday, November 2 at 8 pm at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 524 W. 59th Street. The program includes two works choreographed by Troy Schumacher: the NY premiere of Warehouse under the Hudson and Epistasis, both accompanied by live music and multimedia projections.

Opera Star Anthony Roth Costanzo and More Set for Salon/Sanctuary Concert Series, 9/28

Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:00pm in the historic Players Club, Salon/Sanctuary Concerts-the series that presents early music in intimate alternative venues-opens its fourth season with a unique collaborative event featuring three renowned artists who share a love of baroque music. The performance will include songs of Henry Purcell, arias of Handel, and cantatas of Vivaldi. Program details will be announced shortly. A post-performance dinner with the artists follows at the club.

Michael Clarke Duncan Passes Away at Age 54

The Associated Press reports that actor Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away at age 54. According to a statement released by publicist Joy Fehily, Duncan died Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack.

Frog and Peach Theatre Co., Inc. will present an all-star benefit reading of 'King Lear' on July 9 at The Player's Club with a cast including Jeffrey DeMunn ('The Walking Dead') as King Lear, Bebe Neuwirth ( 'The Good Wife') as Goneril, Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live) as Edgar, Rich Sommer ('Mad Men') as Fool, Wrenn Schmidt ('Boardwalk Empire') as Cordelia, Ted Zurkowski ('Boys on the Side') as Edmund, John Rothman ('Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter') as Kent, Peter Gerety ('Public Enemies') as Gloucester, David Wohl ('Saving Private Ryan') as Albany, Amy Frances Quint ('Radio Deluxembourg') as Regan, Eric Doss ('Love Songs') as France, Ryan Tramont ('The Hurt Locker') as Oswald, Erick Gonzalez ('Two Gentlemen of Verona') as Cornwall, and Jack Sochet ('A Midsummer Night's Dream') as Burgundy. The original score is by Ian McDonald (King Crimson, Foreigner) and performed live by Mr. McDonald.

Shana Farr and Vincent Ricciardi Return to Enrico Caruso Room Tonight, 6/26

Soprano Shana Farr and tenor Vincent Ricciardi, who performed on the Opening Night of the Enrico Caruso Room at Grotta Azzurra in late April, will be doing an encore performance in the new venue tonight, June 26, at 8 PM. Dinner will be available starting at 7 PM. There is a $20 cover charge and no minimum. Reservations are suggested by calling Grotta Azzurra at 212-925-8775.
