Oregon Children’s Theatre (OCT) is excited to announce Be the Hero of Your Story, the theatre’s 2022-2023 performance season. This season OCT returns to a complete line-up of performances, featuring five Mainstage productions and three shows produced by its acclaimed teen company, the Young Professionals Company.  

FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present Samantha Pauly, Jerusha Cavazos and more in 54 Sings Sad Girl Songs on Sunday, June 26th at 9:30PM. We all have the sad girl playlist we blare in our rooms alone “When The Party’s Over.”

Today's top stories include a reading of the musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby, starring Alysha Umphress, Jay Armstrong Johnson, and more! Casting has been announced for the upcoming filmed version of Heathers the Musical, being recorded this month on the West End for a future release. The cast will include Ailsa Davidson, Simon Gordon, Maddison Firth, and more!

A private 29-hour reading of a new musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby, written by the Tony Award-nominated songwriting duo of Nathan Tysen and Jason Howland (Paradise Square), with book by Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones) and directed by Mark Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), will be held tomorrow, Friday, May 20 in New York City. 

Signature Theatre announced its 2022-2023 season—from Resident playwrights Quiara Alegría Hudes, Samuel D. Hunter, Sarah Ruhl, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins—alongside the inauguration of Launchpad, a new residency supporting early-career playwrights that expands the organization’s singular mission of producing a body of work by each resident writer.

The limited engagement of Alison Leiby’s Oh God, A Show About Abortion has been extended through June 30 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

Signature Theatre has extended the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God, directed by David Cromer (Tony Award-winner, The Band’s Visit) to May 29. The production, which opened on May 2, is running on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W 42nd St).

Playwrights Horizons will present Will Arbery’s Corsicana, directed by Sam Gold, June 2–July 10 (opening June 22) in the Mainstage Theater. In Corsicana, a small city in Texas, a woman with Down syndrome named Ginny and her half-brother Christopher are unmoored in the wake of their mother’s death.

Arizona Theatre Company's latest production captures an intimate snapshot of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Day O'Connor at the height of their power in an exciting world premiere.

Directed by Lila Neugebauer (The Wolves, The Waverly Gallery), Alison Leiby: Oh God, A Show About Abortion will play the Cherry Lane Theatre in Manhattan for six weeks only, from April 25 through June 4, 2022. Opening night will be May 5, 2022.

Presenter Ilana Glazer ('Broad City,' 'The Afterparty') will bring Alison Leiby's critically acclaimed comedy about no one's favorite subject to the stage.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has announced the appointment of Rachel Bertone, award-winning regional director and choreographer, as its new Artistic Director. Bertone joins Linda Chin, previously Interim Executive Artistic Director and now Executive Producer, as the company's new leadership team for the 2022 summer season. Reagle's Founder and Producing Artistic Director Robert J. Eagle retired June 30, 2021, after a remarkable 52-year career.

ALL YOU GAIN: Totaled: A New Musical started as a passion project between Richard Eyler (Averno's Bittersummer) and Tyler McCall (Mandela) as a way to use their time during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a year of development the first look into this new work will be arriving on streaming services on January 13th, 2022 preceding their Green Room 42 performance now postponed til February 2nd, 2022.

Open Stage has announced their next production, The Mad Ones, an original musical by Kait Kerrigan & Bree Lowdermilk, which will play February 12 to March 12 on Open Stage’s Capital BlueCross Main Stage.
