David Ira Goldstein directs one of Neil Simon's most beloved and acclaimed plays in ATC's new production that will premiere in Tucson for three weeks of performances and continue to Phoenix for an additional three weeks. ATC's 'The Sunshine Boys' opens at the Temple of Music and Art, running from tonight, March 2, 2013 through March 23, 2013. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from March 28, 2013 through April 14, 2013.
It's not often that high school students get a chance to write a play and see it performed on stage by professional actors, but at Romulus Community High School, that's about to change. Today, February 28th, thanks to a unique partnership between the High School, Henry Ford Community College, Project A.C.E. and the professional theatre Performance Network, 20 students from the Drama class, along with 80 of their schoolmates will watch a professionally produced theatre performance that reflects their experience as students facing the choice of higher education. While not directly penned by the students themselves, the play was written based on a series of in-class interviews and conversations about the real-life challenges that students face with regard to the decision to go - or not go - to college.

Philadelphia Theatre Company presents PTC@Play, a two-week festival of new work today, February 18-March 3 at PTC's home at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). The festival will feature staged readings of four new plays by both established and emerging playwrights, a new play with music in development starring Tony and Barrymore Award winner Forrest McClendon as African American vaudeville legend Bert Williams, and an evening of short plays, FuturePhilly@Play, by seven emerging playwrights. Each playwright will be in-residence at PTC for their reading, and every reading will conclude with a reception where audiences and artists can meet. All events are free with curtain time at 7:30 PM. A highlight of PTC@Play will be the February 18th announcement of the winner of the Terrence McNally New Play Award, a $10,000 cash prize given annually to recognize a new play that celebrates the transformative power of art.
