Performance Network has announced the extension of their summer smash-hit co-production with Jewish Ensemble Theatre (JET), "My Name is Asher Lev" adapted by Aaron Posner from the novel by Chaim Potok, directed by David Magidson (Artistic Director of JET), starring Naz Edwards, Mitchell Koory, and John Seibert. Extension performances will take place on Saturday, September 14 at 8pm and Sunday, September 15 at 2pm at Performance Network Theatre in Downtown Ann Arbor. The Guthrie Theater today announced the casting and creative team for the presentation of the Dowling Studio's 2013-14 season opener Moon Show 143 by Minnesota-bred, Seattle-based theater and visual artist Kyle Loven. Loven's body of work combines puppetry, projections and other art forms with live actors. People's Light & Theatre was the recipient of the Harold Oaks Award in recognition of their work with young audiences in connection with their recent production of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. The National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest has selected Hartford Stage to participate in Shakespeare in American Communities and receive a $25,000 grant for its upcoming production ofMacbeth to help support performances and educational activities, including in-school residencies, workshops, or post-performance discussions.
