Photo Flash: First Look at MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Sheen Center

The renowned Frog & Peach Theatre Company follows up their record breaking Sheen Center debut of 2017's Macbeth with A Midsummer Night's Dream. William Shakespeare's rollicking romp of romance, wizardry, and show biz. The production opened on February 1 and runs through February 25 at The Sheen Center Black Box Theatre.

Willard Manus Creates THREE BY WILL In Rep at Write Act Repertory

Artistic Director John Lant and WRITE ACT REP announce a three Production Series in Rep, "THREE BY WILL - IN REP" which includes two World Premiere's, "Their Finest Hour: Churchill And Murrow," "The Wicked, Wicked Mae," along with the acclaimed "PREZ - The Lester Young Story." The three plays will open at Write Act Repertory @ the Brickhouse Theatre beginning February 11th, 2018

Out of the Box Theatrics presents New Season of BUILDING THE BOX and More in 2018

Producing Artistic Director Elizabeth Flemming and Out of the Box Theatrics is proud to announce the second season of the sold out reading series Building the Box. Curated by Associate Artistic Director, Ethan Paulini, this new series features 4 new pieces that are being considered for full production in the 2019 (and beyond) season. With a renewed commitment to World, American and New York Premieres, this series is designed to give OOTB subscribers and patrons unprecedented access to the programming process, the opportunity to provide feedback to an in progress new play and get a sneak peek into what is ahead, not only from OOTB, but from some of America's most exciting new playwrights. 

Maria Gobetti Directs World Premiere Comedy UNEMPLOYED ELEPHANTS – A LOVE STORY

A chance meeting in an airport lounge leads to a Burmese odyssey and a search for a missing monk… and maybe love. Maria Gobetti directs the world premiere of Unemployed Elephants - A Love Story, a romantic comedy by Wendy Graf (No Word in Guyanese for Me, Please Don't Ask About Beckett). Performances begin on March 9 at The Victory Theatre Center in Burbank, where they continue through April 15. Three low-priced previews take place on March 1, 2 and 3.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Announces Staged Readings of Two New Plays

The Dramaworkshop, Palm Beach Dramaworks' lab for developing new plays, will be presenting staged readings of two fascinating works, both of which are open to the public. Up first is Lyle Kessler's House on Fire, a play that will receive its world premiere at PBD during the 2018-2019 season. This darkly comic twist on the Prodigal Son story will be performed on February 23 and 24.

Ego Actus and LungTree Productions present TIME STANDS STILL

Ego Actus and LungTree Productions present Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies. The Tony Award-nominated play is directed by Ego Actus co-founder, Joan Kane who was named Person of the Year by nytheatre.com in 2011, and was the recipient of the Best Director Award at the Untied Solo Festival in 2016.

BWW Interview: Armand Schultz in AMERICAN HERO at GSP 1/30 to 2/25

George Street Playhouse will present Christopher Demos-Brown's gripping military drama 'American Hero.' Directed by the Playhouse's Artistic Director, David Saint, the show will be on stage from 1/30 through 2/25. Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of interviewing Armand Schultz who plays Rob in American Hero.

Dan Lauria to Lead the Off-Broadway Cast of THE STONE WITCH

Producers Darlene Kaplan, Laura Janik Cronin and Scott J. Newsome, have announced, today, the cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway premiere of The Stone Witch, a play by Shem Bitterman (A Death in Colombia, Influence). Performances begin Monday, March 12, 2018 for an open-ended engagement at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Opening Night is set for Sunday evening, March 25, 2018 at 6:30PM.

Broadway, Film, and TV Star Bradford Dillman Dies at 87

Deadline reports that Bradford Dillman, Broadway, film, and television actor, has died on January 16. He was 87 and died from complications with pneumonia. Dillman starred as Edmund in the original Broadway production of Long Day's Journey Into Night in 1956.

TNC to Present AMERICA'S FAVORITE NEWSCASTER This Winter

Theater For the New City (TNC) presents the world premiere engagement of AMERICA'S FAVORITE NEWSCASTER, a new musical with book and lyrics by Tom Attea, music by Arthur Abrams, and directed by Mark Marcante (the creative team behind the acclaimed Heather Smiley For President, Living in a Musical, An American Worker, etc.).

Honey West Returns To NYC With New Album

Following year-end Top Album list nods by Goldmine and WFUV's Darren DeVivo, HONEY WEST, the NYC guitar rock outfit featuring Foreigner/King Crimson co-founder Ian McDonald, emerges for its first gig of the new year amid increasing airplay for its latest single, Bad Old World, Thursday, Jan. 25 at The Cutting Room, 44 E. 32nd St., New York City.
