Presented by TheatreWorks' New Works from Home program in partnership with Vegas Theatre Company, this fizzy comedy features the unlikely pairing of a Vegas impresario with a dream and a despondent New York actor who join forces to bring the Bard of Avon to Sin City. Directed by Las Vegas native and TheatreWorks' Artistic Associate and Director of New Works Giovanna Sardelli, Shakespeare in Vegas will be offered via video streaming from Thursday, July 23rd at 6PM (PT) until Monday, July 27th at 6PM (PT). To complete his illustrious career leading Pittsburgh Public Theater, Ted Pappas has chosen William Shakespeare's Hamlet as the final play he will direct as the company's Producing Artistic Director. The boy-meets-girl story gets a facelift in Heisenberg, a new romantic comedy by contemporary British playwright Simon Stephens. Pittsburgh Public Theater is thrilled to welcome back former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky Bleier to perform his one-man show, The Play, live on the O'Reilly Theater stage. Based on Rocky's life story, The Play was written by Gene Collier, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sports journalist and co-author (with Rob Zellers) of The Chief, The Public's hit play about Steelers founder Art Rooney, Sr.

Board Chair Michael H. Ginsberg today announced the team that will lead Pittsburgh Public Theater when Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas departs this August after 18 seasons. Named Artistic Director is Marya Sea Kaminski, the current Associate Artistic Director at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Promoted to Managing Director is Louis A. Castelli, who has been with Pittsburgh Public Theater for 20 years.
