Highlighting the depth and breadth of national and international tap artistry, Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the nation's premier presenter of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts,presents Rhythm World, the oldest and most comprehensive festival of American tap and contemporary percussive arts in the world, July 22-August 4, 2013 in downtown Chicago.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents its resident ensemble BAM! performing a world premiere by 2012 Princess Grace Award winner Michelle Dorrance, commissioned by the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University as part of its debut MUSIC + MOVEMENT FESTIVAL. The program, which takes place Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at the Katten/Landau Studio at 425 S. Wabash, also features works by Chicago native and Broadway star Ted Levy, CHRP Founder Lane Alexander and BAM! member Kristi Burris, as well as live music by the Greg Spero Trio and Chicago jazz vocalist Tressa Thomas.

Phylicia Rashad Honored at Amas Benefit March 31

Amas Musical Theatre will celebrate its 39th year with a Gala evening on Monday, March 31 featuring a special 'Blast from the Past' concert performance of Mama, I Want to Sing, a star-studded concert of the gospel, pop, and rhythm and blues hit musical that began at Amas in the early nineteen eighties. The Amas Gala will also honor award winning actress Phylicia Rashad and PricewaterhouseCoopers with 'The Rosie Award', named for Amas Founder Rosetta LeNoire.
