Griffin Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 29th Season, featuring three productions exploring the American Dream. The 2016-17 season kicks off this fall with a rare revival of Maxwell Anderson's 1930s drama WINTERSET, directed by Ensemble Member Jonathan Berry (Pocatello, Balm in Gilead). The season continues next spring with the world premiere of IN TO AMERICA, a 400-year journey through the immigrant experience written by Artistic Director Bill Massolia (Letters Home) and directed by Dorothy Milne. The season concludes next summer with a newly-orchestrated (Matt Deitchman) chamber version of the Tony Award-winning musical RAGTIME, reimagined by director Scott Weinstein (Titanic, Bat Boy: The Musical) and featuring a cast of 20 actors.

New Revival of Leslye Headland's BACHELORETTE To Transform Walkerspace

Carly J. Bauer Productions and Mark Brystowski in association with the Untitled Theatre Collective has announced that it will stage a revival of Leslye Headland's pitch-black comedy BACHELORETTE - and in doing so, transform elements of Walkerspace into a hedonistic hotel. BACHELORETTE made its world premiere at Second Stage Uptown and subsequently inspired the hit film produced by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay. It will run Thursday, September 8 through Saturday, September 17 at Walkerspace, 46 Walker St. in Manhattan. Hannah T. Wolff will direct. www.bacheloretteplay.com

Honorees included actor and producer Michael Douglas, producer and singer/songwriter Emilio and Gloria Estefan, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, American prima ballerina Cynthia Gregory, and director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw. Pride Films and Plays is delighted to announce the winner of our 2015 Great Gay Screenplay contest is Somebody to Love by Jay Cipriani. The victor was selected Sunday, November 15 at the conclusion of PFP?s Gay Film Week in the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted. The weekend included enhanced staged readings of the top five scripts, including A Place in the Woods by Erik Gernand, Finndale by Lloyd Ohls, Drowning City by Chuck Griffith, and The Gay Shoe Clerks by Brad Cryan. The week also commenced on Monday, November 9 with Queer Bits Fall Film Festival II at the Public House Theatre. The festival included two programs comprised of 11 short films all having their Chicago premieres and included a talkback with Chicago filmmaker Dan Pal, whose short Another Party with Scotty was featured in the festival.
