11th Annual Toronto BuskerFest Runs 8/26-29

Scotiabank BuskerFest organizers have announced additional breathtaking new acts for the 11th year of North America's largest street performer festival. The 11th Annual Scotiabank BuskerFest inhabits Toronto's historic St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood once again as buskers from all over the world take to the streets in support of Epilepsy Toronto for a wild four days of fun for all ages from Thursday, August 26 to Sunday, August 29. Last year's BuskerFest attracted over 1 million people, and this year promises to be even bigger, with over 100 top buskers from Canada, the United States, Hungary, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Argentina, the Netherlands, England and more - 50% of them never before seen at the festival!

Registration Opens for The Hackmatack Playhouse's Children's Theatre Camp

Registration has begun for the 2010 Children's Theatre Camp at The Hackmatack Playhouse, Route 9 in Berwick, Maine. Katie Rodgers is the director of the program. According to Rodgers, 'The children's 2010 summer play will be an original show called THE WORLD'S A STAGE, using American music from the Tin Pan Alley era (Gershwin, Foster, Joplin, Berlin). The campers will have the chance to insert their own personalities and ideas into the show, and will, as always, help paint and build their sets and design and create their own costumes.'

McCarter Theatre's AMERICAN BUFFALO Closes 3/28

McCarter Theatre will continue its 2009-2010 season with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production is directed by Tony Award-nominaTed August: Osage County actress Amy Morton and starring August: Osage County's Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts, runs through March 28.

McCarter Theatre to Host Morton-Helmed BUFFALO Starring Letts; Opens 3/9

McCarter Theatre will continue its 2009-2010 season with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production is directed by Tony Award-nominated August: Osage County actress Amy Morton and starring August: Osage County's Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts, runs from March 9 through March 28 (press opening: Friday, March 12 at 8pm). The cast will also feature John Judd and Patrick Andrews.

The Utah Shakespearean Festival opens its 17th annual New American Playwrights Project (NAPP) on Thursday, August 13, featuring works by Jim Lord and Fred C. Adams of Cedar City, UT. Staged readings of Lord's 'Big Dance' and Adams' 'Nell Gwyn' will be performed in the Auditorium Theatre August 13-14, 20-21, and 25-28 at 10 a.m.
