With just three weeks to go until the official opening, the 2016 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival has released its biggest program to date, presenting the works of more than 4600 artists in 630 free exhibitions across Adelaide and regions throughout August.

When more than 100 students from the Newtown area go back to school in the Fall, they will have some amazing tales to tell of their summer. For the last 5 weeks, a dedicated team of Broadway professionals - led by 3 of the same individuals who produced a Broadway tribute to the Newtown community in Waterbury last January - has been working with more than 100 Newtown area students in a production of Seussical the Musical. It is the first of what is to be many tangible practices in healing offered by the 12.14 Foundation (the foundation's president and founder, Newtown resident Michael Baroody, serves as Executive Producer of this production). It is comfort and healing in the true sense. As director Michael Unger works with the cast on their roles, he encourages them to look inward to develop their characters. This is what will eventually be a hallmark program of the 12.14 Foundation as it seeks to strengthen Newtown's youth through the arts. It is something that is mentioned often among these budding artists: that sense of camaraderie and strength.
The 21st annual New American Playwrights Project (NAPP) takes the stage at the Utah Shakespeare Festival from August 8 through 30. Three plays will be presented as staged readings in the Auditorium Theatre at 10 a.m.on selected dates. PASSCAL (The Performing Arts Society of Southern California) in association with All Seasons Theatre Company will produce the limited engagement of the Thornton Wilder classic with Americana music and original scoring composed by Jonathan Kupper. Directing the production is Patrick Riviere who is also currently directing the LA premiere of PIE Story Theatre for CASA 0101 Theater and recently received critical acclaim for his direction of THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT at The Victory Theater.

Paul has the distinction of being one of the original staff DJ's for K-BEST 95FM that hit the San Diego air waves in 1978. At the time, he went by Paul Diamond when San Diego had the 9th largest radio market in the U.S. and Paul had the #1 rated show for women age 18-35.
To celebrate the anniversary of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, PASSCAL will produce a limited engagement of the classic play with Americana music and original scoring composed by Jonathan Kupper, at The First Congregational Church in Buena Park, California for the first two weekends of August. It is the ONLY production slated for the Southern California area for the Anniversary! The production is being produced by PASSCAL (Performing Arts Society of Southern California) in Association with All Seasons Theatre Company, Inc. Patrick Riviere, who most recently directed the acclaimed production of THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT at The Victory Theatre in Burbank, will helm the production.
