Registration Opens for The Hackmatack Playhouse's Children's Theatre Camp

By:

Registration has begun for the 2010 Children's Theatre Camp at The Hackmatack Playhouse, Route 9 in Berwick, Maine. Katie Rodgers is the director of the program. According to Rodgers, "The children's 2010 summer play will be an original show called THE WORLD'S A STAGE, using American music from the Tin Pan Alley era (Gershwin, Foster, Joplin, Berlin). The campers will have the chance to insert their own personalities and ideas into the show, and will, as always, help paint and build their sets and design and create their own costumes."

This is Rodgers' 7th summer working with the Hackmatack Children's Theater Camp, and second year as director. She said, "Campers make lifelong friends, enjoy the beautiful grounds, and grow as performers and as children while they strengthen their confidence and self-esteem. While watching the campers perform and realize their talents and strengths is always rewarding, what I truly look forward to the most each summer is watching them make friends, laugh, work together, and include their unique creativity in everything they do."

Registration for Children's Camp is limited to 30 children, ages 7 to 13. No experience is necessary. Call Hackmatack Playhouse at 207-698-1807 or email HackPlayhouse@aol.com. More information is also available on-line at www.Hackmatack.org.
