The New York Times has reported that unless the UK government steps in to help dance companies survive the ongoing global health crisis, Christmas ballet season could be in jeopardy. 

The Times has reported that Tamara Rojo, the head of English National Ballet, said that it will take three months to get the company's performers ready to perform live once again.

The Stage has reported that English National Ballet's Tamara Rojo, the Arts Council's chair Nicholas Serota and Mark Cornell, chief executive of Ambassador Theatre Group, will be sitting on a new government-led taskforce aimed at rebuilding the arts and culture in the wake of the health crisis.

While we all indulge in some heavy isolation snacking, it's this lot's job to remain fit and healthy. Fortunately for us, they're imparting their knowledge through a selection of live streams, so we can stay home and stay rond de jambe ready.

While theWest End has been greatly affected by this strange situation, performers and teachers haven't stop from being creative and sharing their arts! Many of them are now giving free live workshops and classes through their socials to keep people moving and inspired!

Three years ago, English National Ballet presented an evening of work all by female choreographers, She Said. It was an uneven programme but a brave artistic choice, and those courageous female voices are finally fully realised in the sequel, She Persisted.
