59E59 Theaters and New Light Theater Project have announce casting for Ink’dWell by Erin E. Adams (Snow Globe) and directed by Tabatha Gayle (Tragic Fragments). Ink’dWell begins previews September 29, 2022, in Theater C and opens October 5 for a run through October 16, 2022.

The PlayGround Experiment is proud to announce the third presentation of new works created by members of the Voices of America Writers Workshop. The third group of writers to take part in The PlayGround Experiment's exciting new workshop are Lillian Andrea De Leon, Robin L Dimension, Tabatha Gayle, Jessica Lozano, José Manuel Pereyra, Tamarah Tucker, Fernando Vieira, and McKinley Winston. Onstage Now is Virginia Stage Company's The Bluest Eye through March 24. Co-produced by Norfolk State University Theatre Company and directed by Khanisha Foster, this production is based on the novel by Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Toni Morrison.

She is taken in by a loving family and cared for by brilliant and kind sisters, Frieda and Claudia. The character-driven play, both poetic and daringly funny, illuminates the destructive powers of racism and class dynamics while exploring the power of community through exquisite storytelling. The Bluest Eye is produced in collaboration with Norfolk State University Theatre Company.

When the holiday season comes around it often brings with it staples of holiday theater - from Ebenezer Scrooge learning how to care for something other than money, Charlie Brown hearing from his friend Linus the true meaning of Christmas, or the Grinch increasing the size of his heart, theatergoers often are limited to old favorites for the season. That is why it is refreshing that the Connecticut Repertory Theater at UConn chose this year to offer a lesser known, yet equally poignant holiday tale with its current production of Paula Vogel's A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS: AN AMERICAN MUSICAL CELEBRATION. The production offers a set of stories that many may not have heard before with familiar (and not so familiar) music by Daryl Waters.
