The Broadway at Birdland Concert Series welcomed Jamie deRoy & friends for a star-studded cabaret show last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

Stephen Schwartz and Friends will air on THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK AT NJPAC on Sunday, 4/17 at 1pm on THIRTEEN; and 3:30pm on WLIW21.

The award-winning composer and special guests perform selections from his catalog of stage and screen favorites like 'Magic to Do' from Pippin; 'When You Believe' from the DreamWorks' animated feature, The Prince of Egypt; 'Day By Day' from Godspell and several selections from the Broadway hit Wicked, including 'Defying Gravity.'

Now entering its 101st season, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene [NYTF] will honor David S. and Sylvia Steiner (joint lead producers on Golda's Balcony starring Tovah Feldshuh for Broadway and Film) at a Gala performance of the lost 1923 Yiddish American Operetta classic THE GOLDEN BRIDE on December 8 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)  presented the first performance of the American Songbook at NJPAC series and BroadwayWorld was there. Performances will be taped before a live audience in NJPAC's Victoria Theater on Sunday, October 25 and Monday, October 26 for broadcast on NJTV, WLIW and THIRTEEN next year.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, Randie Levine-Miller presented and hosted Showstopper Divas --'The Broadway Songbook' at Stage 72/Triad (158 West 72nd Street) to benefit The Actors Fund*. Critically acclaimed theater and cabaret 'divas', Ivy Austin, Edna Kaufmann, Jennifer Sheehan, and Corinna Sowers-Adler entertained. ?The Emmy Award winning actor Fyvesh Finkel jokes, 'I'm 92, but looking at this audience I realize that's no big deal.'  Fyvesh was the star of Yiddish Night at the Friars Club last night, although his co-stars were his sons Elliot, Ian, and the special menu of traditional Jewish favorites prepared by the staff. 

World-renowned maestro and violinist Itzhak Perlman just headlined a concert and gala celebrating National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's 100th anniversary and honoring legendary financier and philanthropist Sanford I. Weill and Broadway impresario Jordan Roth last night, at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, 57th Street and Seventh Avenue. NYTF is the longest consecutively-producing Jewish Arts company in the world.

Stewart F. Lane, a six time Tony Award winner and Olivier winning producer, hosted the Boston University Showcase 2015 in New York City. Scroll down for photos from the event!

Slyvia Steiner had her caricature added to the the celebrities on the walls of the legendary Sardi's restaurant yesterday. Joseph Benincasa presidet/CEO of the Actors Fund and Max Klimavicius managing partner of Sardi's honored Sylvia as family and friends toasted her. Slyvia and her husband David are well known in the theater community and as Joe Benincasa pointed out, 'To know Slyvia is to love her'.
