Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its finalists for the 2020 Premiere Play Festival. Is the house haunted? Reluctantly, Julia decides to summon Eleanor, her mother and a dowser living in Vermont. Eleanor figures out the problem, but it will take more than a dowsing stick to uncover the secrets of the townhouse. A play about parents and children and how the past is never far away from the present.

With a total submission tally of close to 170 plays and musicals, The Bridge Initiative has announced 40 plays as semifinalists for this year's new work contest. The semifinalists hail from as far away as Australia, as well as more than ten states, with four playwrights local to Arizona.

terraNOVA Collective has announced the 2014 Groundworks New Play Series at Cherry Lane Studio this June. The 2014 Groundworks New Play Series features the 6 new plays developed through the 2014 Groundbreakers Playwrights Group, and 2 new soloNOVA ARTS Workshops. This year's playwrights work has been produced or developed with numerous prestigious theatres including The Public, Joe's Pub, New York Theatre Workshop, The Old Vic, Roundabout Theatre Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, Edward F. Albee Foundation, Sundance Theatre Lab and Lincoln Center.

The Boomerang Theatre Company will present their annual ROCK-N-ROLES new play event on Saturday April 5th at 8pm. Six new short plays inspired by great rock songs will be presented, along with live musicians. The event will take place at TheatreLab, 357 W 36th Street in New York City.
