Line-Up Announced for 2020 KCRW's World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association announced the line-up for the 2020 KCRW's World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl. The successful collaboration between KCRW and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, now in its 21st year, launches Sunday, June 28, at 7PM.

Thin Lear Announces Full-Length Album 'Wooden Cave'

Queens-based indie artist Thin Lear shares the new track 'Maniacs' today, with news of his first full-length album Wooden Cave, to be released via EggHunt Records on April 24th. 'Maniacs' comes as a cross between Hot Chip and Sufjan Stevens, with the cinematic cleverness of DeVotchKa, in a narrative that explores human interaction and internet habits. The song rises and falls in a roller coaster of emotions, indicative of what's to come on Wooden Cave.

Sufjan Stevens & Lowell Brams Release Collaborative Album APORIA

Oscar- and Grammy-nominated composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens and Asthmatic Kitty Records cofounder, longtime collaborator and Stevens' stepfather Lowell Brams will release a collaborative album, Aporia, on March 27. Dustbowl Revival to Perform at Irvington Folk Festival

California roots ensemble Dustbowl Revival will perform at the 1st Annual Irvington Folk Festival at the Irvington Theater on February 1 in support of their new album Is It You, Is It Me out January 31 via Thirty Tigers. Named 'Best Live Band in LA' by LA Weekly, Dustbowl Revival is notorious for flooring audiences with their infectious live performances. Their latest studio offering finds the sextet infusing subtle pop sensibilities into their already genre-defying style, which incorporates everything from folk to funk to New Orleans swing and so much in between. 

Belgian Composer Thomas Jean Henri Teams with Will Oldham, Kate Stables, Sean O'Hagen

Cabane's first album is the outcome of Belgian composer Thomas Jean Henri bringing together the American Will Oldham (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy) and English musician Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), to perform some songs arranged by Sean O'Hagan (The High Llamas); a dream line-up for this collection of tunes, bordering on both folk and orchestral pop. Far from the maddening sounds, Grande est La Maison will be a warm shelter for lovers of Nick Drake or Vashti Bunyan.

Graham Norwood Shares New Single 'Collapses To Zero'

Today, San Francisco singer-songwriter Graham Norwood shared the latest single from his debut album Out Of The Sea, “Collapses To Zero.” 'Beginning with soft acoustic strumming before introducing dreamy steel guitar, the song is a an existential meditation that finds its singer wading through a sea of reverb that washes over the listener with a sense of warmth. Graham, who showcases both his folk singer side and his more soulful, with high octave vocals and far out harmonies, brings to mind the quieter side of Harry Nilsson with an indie rock sensibility.' Basia Bulat Announces New Album 'Are You in Love?'

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter BASIA BULAT is joining forces once again with Jim James (My Morning Jacket) for her new album, Are You in Love?. The record is out March 27 via Secret City Records and is produced by James, who also produced Bulat's 2016 release Good Advice.

Rosu Lup Releases New Album THE RANGER

Rosu Lup, the Philadelphia-based duo of Jonathan Stewart and Josh Marsh, combines a sonic mix of indie-folk, electronic and orchestral influences on The Ranger, out today. Their sophomore full-length album is full of the observations and lessons they've learned during a personal and painful chapter, and offers their most expansive sound yet, thanks in part to James McAlister (Sufjan Stevens, The National) who added drums, synth and keys to the mix.

The Imaginaries Announce Holiday Album 'Hometown Christmas'

Oklahoma husband / wife duo, The Imaginaries, Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) and Maggie McClure (keys, piano, vocals), announce holiday album Hometown Christmas just in time for their 25-date tour with The Brian Setzer Orchestra's “Christmas Rocks! Tour,” which begins November 15 at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN. The album features 13 tracks (track listing below) of originals, including the title track “Hometown Christmas” which they debuted on FOX'sLiving Oklahoma yesterday, and holiday favorites, and will be out November 15th. “In honor of the amazing opportunity to open for the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Rocks! Tour,” says Maggie and Shane, “we decided to release a holiday album this year, which is a combination of our past Holiday releases plus new songs as well.”

Milan Records, an imprint of Sony Music Masterworks, today releases LOOKING FOR ALASKA (MUSIC FROM THE HULU SERIES) a?' available everywhere now.  The album includes music from Hulu's newest original limited series, produced by Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Gossip Girl) and based on John Green's bestselling novel.  Set in 2005, the series features music specific to the early 2000s era, carefully curated by Schwartz and music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (The O.C., The Twilight Series) as a sonic companion to the show's coming-of-age narrative.

Sufjan Stevens to Release Score for Justin Peck's Ballet 'The Decalogue'

Oscar- and Grammy-nominated composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens will release his acclaimed score for Justin Peck's ballet The Decalogue October 18 via his own label, AKR. Performed by the pianist Timo Andres, the recording is the first time the score, premiered during the New York City Ballet's 2017 season, is available to the public.

Dream Folk Indie Duo Rosu Lup to Release New Album, 'The Ranger'

Drawing on elements of orchestral instrumentation, electronic, ethereal, and folk sounds, Rosu Lup's music is as unique as the origin of their name -- which is Romanian for “red wolf.” The duo's new album, The Ranger, works through difficult phases of life and finds them discovering hope along the way. Lead single “What You Need” premiered with Substream Magazine today, with the outlet noting that it's “a deeply nuanced, beautiful track that will have listeners thinking about it for a long time.”
