Artistic Director of Deafinitely Theatre, Paula Garfield, today announces a new, site-specific production of Mike Bartlett's play Contractions as the company marks its 15th anniversary. A co-production with New Diorama Theatre and staged on a disused trading floor at New Diorama's ND2, it will be Deafinitely Theatre's first site-specific show. Garfield directs Fifi Garfield and Abigail Poulton in the production which opens at New Diorama's ND2 on 8 November, with previews from 1 November, and runs until 29 November.
Deafinitely Theatre Adds Extra Date to Tour of SOMETHING ELSE

Deafinitely Theatre today announces an extra date for its adaptation of Kathryn Cave's much loved children's book Something Else. The production will now show at Pegasus Oxford on 2 June, in addition to the previously announced Claremont High School Academy in Brent (school performance), Derby Theatre, a fundraising gala at Wyndham's Theatre (invite only) and the actacentre in Bristol.

The Jamie Lloyd Company's first production of 2016 is the full-throttle UK premiere of a contemporary adaptation of Jean Genet's masterpiece, THE MAIDS - not seen in the West End for 20 years. Director Jamie Lloyd has assembled a powerhouse trio of actors, including double Emmy Award-winning Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat) and Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey), to tackle this explosive psycho-drama. 'Twas the night before Christmas, and through the Houston area people were shopping, cursing their error. Why did they wait for the last few minutes to buy so many holiday presents? Cozy, at home, two theater enthusiasts discussed theatrical amusements. There were funny shows, and sad ones. Some had music and joviality, while others encouraged civic responsibility. But, sadly, the list of dream shows to see just grew and grew. Wouldn't it be great if Houston produced just a few? They may have been done, but not since we started seeing everything. Oh, Santa and producers, please make true our Christmas dreams.

This year, West London's premiere pantomime destination stages a giant of a show as multi-award-winning playwright Tom Wells (The Kitchen Sink, Jumpers for Goalposts) gives his adventurous take on a classic tale in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK at the Lyric Hammersmith. Audiences will again be in the safe hands of Lyric pantomime favourite Steven Webb (the Lyric's Cinderella, Aladdin and Dick Whittington and His Cat) as Jack's best friend Sprout, while joining the fun this year is the brilliant Howard Ward (War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) who makes his pantomime debut as Jack's mother Moreen Dripp.
