String Quartet ETHEL's Documerica Returns to BAM, 10/2

Inspired by the Environmental Protection Agency's Project Documerica-a massive "snapshot" of America showcased in an astonishing archive of images captured during the recession-plagued, tumultuous 1970s-this multimedia meditation interweaves over 3,000 vintage photographs with commissioned contemporary music for a landmark work.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's pioneering Liquid Music series announces its 2013-14 schedule of events. BAM Announces 34 Events in Opera, Theater, Music and Dance for 2013 Next Wave Festival!

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the 2013 Next Wave Festival. The festival runs from September 17 through December 22 and comprises opera, theater, music, and dance productions in the institution's three mainstage venues: the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, the BAM Harvey Theater, and the BAM Richard B. Fisher Building.

Full Cast Announced for 1812 Productions' IT'S MY PARTY: THE WOMEN AND COMEDY PROJECT

Beginning in April, 2013, 1812 Productions will present the world premiere comedy It's My Party: The Women and Comedy Project, created and directed by 1812 Productions' Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, and featuring a diverse ensemble of Philadelphia actresses. A production which will use physical comedy, storytelling, and music in a one-of-a-kind theatrical event, the creative process for It's My Party: The Women and Comedy Project began in 2010 with two questions: how do women use comedy and how does that usage change as they age. With these pointed inquiries as her guides, Ms. Childs embarked on three inclusive and ongoing initiatives which, together, would form the core of the Project.

The Flea Premieres WHITE HOT by Tommy Smith, Beginning 4/26

The Flea Theater will present the New York Premiere of WHITE HOT by Tommy Smith (Pigeon, The Wife). It is directed by Courtney Ulrich and stars The Bats. Performances run April 26 - May 26 at The Flea (41 White Street between Church and Broadway in Tribeca).

Soho Rep's 15th Annual Writer/Director Lab Begins 4/1

Since its founding in 1998, Soho Rep's Writer/Director Lab has fostered the development of emerging playwrights and directors, providing mentorship and resources for their new theatrical works. From April 1 through May 13, the organization will present public readings of the fruits of this year's Lab, the 15th in Soho Rep's history.
