The 29th Street Playwrights Collective kicks off its fall NEW WORKS SERIES with a staged reading of Embracing the Undertoad by Robin Rice on Monday, Sept 17, at the Royal Family Performing Arts Space on 145 W46th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), 3rd Floor, at 7:30 pm.

The limited Off-Broadway engagement for the Shaw's timely classic comedy Heartbreak House will open Sunday September 9th.at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) and continue through September 29th only. Check out photos of the ensemble in action below!

The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theatre Company, kicks off their 28th season with Stephen Brown-Fried's new adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry VI. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at the Mezzanine Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theaters (502 West 53rd Street at Tenth Avenue) opens Tuesday August 21st (Part 1) and Wednesday August 22nd (Part 2).  Performances continue through September 8th only.

Gingold Theatrical Group (David Staller, Artistic Director) is proud to announce the 2018 Golden Shamrock Gala will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 3 West Club (3 West 51st Street), and will honor actress and activist Martha Plimpton and actor, producer, and long-time Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Tom Viola. This year's gala will be geared toward raising funds for GTG's full production of Shaw's masterpiece, Heartbreak House, which will run in New York's Theatre Row on 42nd Street from August 28 through September 29th.

Gingold Theatrical Group's SHAW NEW YORK FESTIVAL, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, hosts a SHAW NEW YORK SYMPOSIUM  on Monday, March 14 from 6-8pm, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium, New York Public Library (111 Amsterdam Avenue). The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present George Bernard Shaw's comedy Misalliance, directed by Artistic Associate/Casting Director Stephen Brown-Fried. The Public Theater today announced that NAATCO's acclaimed production of AWAKE AND SING! will extend its limited engagement until August 8th in The Public's Shiva Theater (425 Lafayette Street).

Racial representation on the American stage is incongruous with the heterogeneity of the United States. For the past twenty-five years, NAATCO has responded to this challenge by producing European and American classics with all-Asian American casts. This panel, 'Playing Jewish at the National Asian American Theatre Company', examines the strategy behind, and the effectiveness of, NAATCO's mission through a case study of its productions of plays with all Jewish characters, including the upcoming remount of their production of AWAKE AND SING!
