With funding from the Station North Arts and Entertainment District Second Saturdays, the Strand Theater Company presents our first annual Second Saturday Reading Series. The Reading Series will give one new playwright each month, a chance to have their work produced for an audience. The series will be FREE to the public, and audience members will be asked to provide feedback to the playwright.
Following a standing room only opening performance, The Laurie Beechman Theatre has announced two additional performances of our brand new venture, SIMPLY STREISAND, a celebration of Ms. Barbra Streisand, her legendary career and the music she made famous.

SIMPLY STREISAND will take place for two very special performances only, Wednesdays, August 10 and 24 @ 7pm. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within The West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd St., in the heart of New York's theatre district. The first ever Tony Award Documentary Film Series launched May 9 as part of the 2011 Tony Awards Showcase at the Times Square Visitors Center and Mini-Museum. The Tony Award Documentary Films Series features three films that examine what it's like to be behind-the-scenes on a Tony-eligible Broadway musical. The first film to be screened was Finding Billy, taking viewers on the journey in the search for the young male leads in Billy Elliot the Musical. The screening was immediately followed by a panel discussion comprised of moderator Nora Brennan (Children's Casting Director for Billy Elliot), and Broadway cast members Tade Biesinger (Billy), Jacob Clemente (Billy), Stephen Hanna (Older Billy), and Joel Hatch (George).
