This year's concert, titled FIRST NAME BASIS, featured everyone's favorite showtunes, but only those with a first name in the title. Proceeds go to the Gilana Shira Alpert Fund. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the auditions for the 2011 NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition.
NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition is returning for its sixth year and will take place at New World Stages on three subsequent Saturdays - September 17th, September 24th, and October 1st.
The hit series is back in September with three more stars of Broadway. Created by Joseph Macchia this monthly series features some of the most talented Broadway performers as well as some future Broadway stars. On September 12th at 7:00 PM the series returns to the beautiful Metropolitan Room. Doors open at 6:30 PM Showtime is 7:00 PM. There is a $20 Cover Charge and 2 Beverage Minimum. The Reading Series will give one new playwright each month, a chance to have their work produced for an audience. The series will be FREE to the public, and audience members will be asked to provide feedback to the playwright.
