Bristol Riverside Theatre opens the hit rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar starting March 21 and running through April 16. 

The well reviewed, NY Times Critic's  Pick Baghdaddy  (formerly known as, Who's Your Baghdaddy?)  by Marshall Pailet  and A.D. Penedo will return to NYC beginning April 6,  opening on Monday, May 1, 2017 and have an initial run thrugh June 18, 2017 at St. Luke's Theatre (308 West 46th Street). Rubicon Theatre Company celebrates Black History Month with THE DEVIL'S MUSIC: THE LIFE AND BLUES OF BESSIE SMITH, starring singer and actress Miche Braden of the original Off-Broadway production (named one of the 10 Best Off-Broadway productions of the year by the N.Y. Daily Times). Described by CBC as a, "bawdy, bluesy, boozy rollicking night out at the theatre," the show follows the life, loves and career of blues and jazz singer Bessie Smith, called the "Empress of the Blues." 

Bristol Riverside Theatre continues its 30th Anniversary season with the hit rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar, running March 21-April 16.  With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar is directed by Keith Baker, music directed by Douglass Lutz, with choreography by Stephen Casey and features Julian Alvarez, Derrick Cobey, Patrick H. Dunn, Robert Farruggia, Adam Kemmerer, Ciji Prosser, Darren Ritchie, Danny Rutigliano, and Steve Steiner.  The ensemble features Jason Taylor Armstrong, Daniel Bontempo, Elena Camp, John DiFerdinando, Maggie Griffin-Smith, Megan Helen Jones, Lauren Krigel, Caitlin Ort, William Pazdziora,  Miriam Grace Payne, Christopher J. Perugini, Dominick Sannelli,  Keith L. Watford, and Timothy Walton.

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company, continues its 30th Anniversary Season with John Logan's comedy I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series, on January 23 & 30 at 7pm at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 W. 46th Street, NYC 10036. A 'Dollars and Sense' talkback on the future development of the presented works will be held after each performance.

If you were ever a baby, had a baby, or just acted like a baby, The Babies is the musical for you. Going from the womb to preschool, The Babies sing and dance and tell you what they really think. A musical from the folks who gave you classic television like 'The Brady Bunch' and 'Gilligan's Island.' The Babies has book by Lloyd J. Schwartz (who will also direct), music by Matt Dahan (who will serve as musical director) and lyrics by Lloyd J. Schwartz & Anthony Gruppuso, with musical staging by Gene Castle. Just announced, the musical will end its limited engagement on January 7th, 2017.

200 years in the future, the land is ruled by the mighty 'Spotif-Eye', everyone is a freelancer with an inflexible work schedule, and the end of humankind draws near.  The dystopian musical comedy George Orwell never wrote introduces us to three sisters, a hair-obsessed Lieutenant, a mysterious Elder who speaks in song lyrics, and the one algorithmically perfect song that rules them all. Will the sweet sounds of sisterhood ring out and save humanity? Will they ever taste fresh kale juice?  Will the revolution, in fact, be harmonized?

The hilarious new holiday musical Snow Way Out has been selected to close out the York Theatre Company's reading series for 2016 with a one-time only star-studded reading on December 19th at 2:00 PM at The York Theatre, 619 Lexington Ave (E. 54th Street) on the lower level of Saint Peter's Church.

Manhattan Musical Theatre Lab, a developmental organization founded 17 years ago by the late Director and Choreographer Bick Goss, will present the new musical Brooklyn Bridge at the St. Luke's Theatre on October 24 at 6:30 pm (St. Luke's is at 308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). With a book and lyrics by Ray Roderick, music by Joseph Baker, and musical direction by Laura Bergquist, Brooklyn Bridge is an innovative musical inspired by the extraordinary life of Emily Roebling, wife of Brooklyn Bridge Chief Engineer Washington Roebling.

The play was recently selected to perform as a mainstage production at the National Black Theatre Festival in North Carolina and also performed for the Legends of the NBA for All-Star Weekend 2015.

'OMOTENASHI Journey,' the new musical project written and directed by Noriko Sunamoto (Japanese Production of 'The Phantom of the Opera,' 'Wicked,' 'Mamma Mia!,' Off-Broadway's 'The Jackie Mason Musical') collaborated with an intellectual lecture event hosted by the New York Greater Mensa last night, on July 21st. Manhattan Musical Theatre Lab, a non-profit developmental organization founded 16 years ago by the late Director and Choreographer Bick Goss, announced that it will present a preview of the new musical #MARS at the St. Luke's Theatre on June 22 at 6:30 pm. (St. Luke's is at 308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues.) With music by Willem Oosthuysen and book and lyrics by Laura Kleinbaum, #MARS is the story about how CBS-TV has conducted a worldwide search for qualified Americans to man the first ever mission to Mars. Tune in as Miami's premier plastic surgeon, everyone's favorite romance novelist, a girl next-door type, a retired mathematician in a wheelchair, and an actual astronaut takes human kind's next giant leap.
