Stephen Wise Free Synagogue will host a concert May 19 celebrating the centennial of prolific Polish-Jewish composer Mieczyslaw Weinberg. The program will feature Weinberg's "24 Preludes for Solo Cello" performed by Yosif Feigelson, Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" with pianist Ilya Yakushev, and several of Weinberg's Yiddish songs performed by Stephen Wise Cantor Daniel Singer.

Sierra Stages has extended its production of the hilariously twisted black comedy "Hand to God" by Robert Askins for an additional weekend through March 23 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. The remaining five performances are on Friday March 15 and Saturday March 16 at 8 PM; Thursday March 21 at 7 PM; and Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23 at 8 PM.
The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden announced March 11 that its board of trustees unanimously voted in favor of moving forward with a renovation and redesign of its Sculpture Garden for the first time since the 1980s.
