The Royal Court Theatre Reveals Cast For WORD-PLAY

The Royal Court Theatre has announced that Issam Al Ghussain, Kosar Ali, Simon Manyonda, Sirine Saba and Yusra Warsama have been cast in Rabiah Hussain's new play Word-Play, directed by Nimmo Ismail.

Reinventing the Bard can provoke an eye-roll or two and Director Ola Ince’s new version of Romeo & Juliet at the Globe will certainly divide audiences. Ince choses to show the play from the aspect of mental health issues; the couple choose to die because they are mentally afflicted, rather than because they are in love.

Casting Announced For For TWO PALESTINIANS GO DOGGING

Sofia Asir, Amir El-Masry, Joe Haddad, Philipp Mogilnitskiy, Sirine Saba, Avigail Tlalim and Miltos Yerolemou have been cast in the world premiere of two Palestinians go dogging written by Sami Ibrahim and directed by Omar Elerian. It is a co-production with Theatre Uncut. With set design by Rajha Shakiry, lighting design by Jackie Shemesh, sound design by Elena Peña, video design by Ash J Woodward and assistant direction from Philip Morris.

Rubasingham directs Richard Cant (Peter/Ivar at 58/Landlord), Karen Fishwick (Daisy/Clare), Pamela Hardman (Character Actress /Marjorie/Embassy Assistant), Joshua James (Robert/Finn/Ivar at 28), Calam Lynch (Eric/Cas) and Sirine Saba (Suzannah). The production opens on 4 June, with previews from 30 May, and runs until 6 July, coinciding with London's Pride parade.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced full casting for Matt Hartley's new play Eyam, directed by Adele Thomas, opening in The Globe on Saturday 15 September. When the plague arrives surprisingly in the Derbyshire village of Eyam in 1665, the community face a moral dilemma. They must decide whether to flee and risk spreading the vicious disease, or stay, protect others from the risk, and face the potential of their own slow and painful death.
