Pittsburgh CLO has joined forces with Kansas City Starlight to produce a 21-week tour of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, coming to the Benedum Center June 14-25.

Today, June 9th, the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund will welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel and noted historian and Harvard lecturer Dr. Timothy McCarthy in a conversation about the history and cultural impact of the censored 1923 Broadway production of Sholem Asch's God of Vengeance and the new Broadway play inspired by it, this season's Tony-nominated Indecent.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) is pleased to announce casting for British director Simon Godwin's new staging of Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare's dark comedy about justice, faith, power, sex, and family. The production, which marks Godwin's first time directing Shakespeare for an American company, runs June 17 - July 16 at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place) in the Brooklyn Cultural District.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, cheers the first opening of its 70th Rolling World Premiere, Br'er Cotton by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm. The play, which was seen at the 2016 National Showcase of New Plays in Austin, Texas, will open at Core Member Kitchen Dog Theater (Dallas, TX) on June 9 and run until July 1.

On Monday, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, welcomed Tony Award nominated and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, who received this year's Lifetime Achievement Obie Award and whose critically-acclaimed Indecent is nominated for a 2017 Tony Award for Best New Play. Vogel discussed her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV, with Drama Critic Linda Winer. The Shubert Foundation's 2017 Grants Program has awarded a record total of $26.8 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The 2017 grants mark the 37th consecutive year that the Foundation has increased its giving.
