Van Gogh, Mary Shelley and Tchaikovsky Highlight Ensemble for the Romantic Century's 2017-18 Season

The Ensemble for the Romantic Century has announced that the 2017-18 season, ERC's 17th, will take place at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between Dyer and 10th Avenues), beginning August 10th with Van Gogh's Ear. Opening Night is set for August 17th. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through September 10th only.

Remount of AN OCTOROON Will Launch Woolly Mammoth's 2017-18 Season

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces its first production of Season 38, the remount of An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Nataki Garrett. The show will reunite the entire cast and production teams from Woolly's 2016 production and will run from July 18 to August 6, 2017.

For the past 25 years DC's very own Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts has produced musicals that fall into this category – for example, Pippin and Jesus Christ Superstar with their Musical Theatre Institute for Teens, as well as other lesser known shows like Side Show – but what other teen program has embarked on the journey of premiering a new show? None that I know of, which is why I keep on singing The Theatre Lab's praises.
