Signature Theatre has announced that it will continue to take part in the Open Your Lobby campaign, keeping its lobby doors open to protesters this weekend.

Source Material announced today that they will postpone performances of their World Premiere of In These Uncertain Times, a digital performance piece devised by the company and directed by Artistic Director, Samantha Shay, created for and presented on Zoom.

The events of this week continue to send shockwaves around the world and theatres everywhere are responding to the public outcry. While many have been quick to issue statements of support of the Black Lives Matter movement, some have taken further steps to promise plans of action to create a better theatre community for the future.

On June 7 at 7:30pm EDT, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will co-presented with Barrington Stage Company, Broadway Dance Center, Kaatsbaan, The Joyce Theater, New York City Center, Jerome Robbins Dance Division at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and Spoleto Festival USAthe premiere of Storm.

Zachary Noah Piser (Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen), Kuhoo Verma (Signature Theatre's Octet) and Debbie Christine Tjong (MCC Theatre's The Wrong Man) are the debut faces of a new initiative by Cheeyang Ng, composer of Eastbound (Village Theatre's Festival of New Musicals) and Maya (Live & In Color, Hypokrit Theatre).

On June 7 at 7:30pm EDT, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will present the premiere of Storm as part of the Works & Process Artists (WPA) Virtual Commission Series.

Mamma Mia! at The Anthem DC will not run June 25 - July 5, 2020 as previously scheduled. Signature Theatre has worked with their sponsors Amazon and Max Productions and their partners at The Anthem and have announced that they have been able to reschedule the performances to next summer, June 24 - July 3, 2021.

The Playwrights' Center is continuing its commitment to developing playwrights and new work through their Core Writers program. Seven of the country's most thrilling playwrights are joining the program. The 2020-2023 Core Writers are Sharon Bridgforth, Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, Andrew Rosendorf, Riti Sachdeva, Charly Evon Simpson, Crystal Skillman, and Jonathan Spector.
