Howard University has announced the appointment of Phylicia Rashad as dean of the recently reestablished College of Fine Arts, effective July 1, 2021. In this role, she will report to Provost Anthony K. Wutoh. An alumna of Howard University, Rashad graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts.

Award-winning playwright Dominique Morisseau's riveting and emotionally powerful Pipeline is next up on the production calendar at Everyman Theatre.

Today, Red Bull Theater announced that Kate Burton will join the cast of the first public presentation of a new dramatization of Ben Jonson’s Sejanus, His Fall, adapted and directed by Nathan Winkelstein, Red Bull’s Associate Artistic Director.

Now, for the first time in forever, that beloved music will be celebrated in Pandora Presents Disney Princess - The Concert on stage at the Fabulous Fox Theatre Saturday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. 

Midnight at The Never Get begins as a cabaret act that transforms into a love story and concludes as a meditation on the way we grieve our past selves. The entire show takes place in a 1960s nightclub where things are not quite as they seem: the star of the act, singer Trevor Copeland (Sam Bolen, who also co-conceived the show), has died, and he's chosen to spend his afterlife inside a cabaret of songs and stories. We are the audience to Trevor's memories as he takes us on a journey through a chapter of his past in which he performed in a nightclub routine with the love of his life, songwriter Arthur Brightman (Christian Douglas).

Signature Theatre has released Midnight at The Never Get, the third production in the Signature Features 2021 Season. With book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson grant winner Mark Sonnenblick, Midnight at The Never Get features the performance of a lifetime from a 1960s underground gay nightclub in Greenwich Village. 

Signature Theatre has announced that the company’s 30th Anniversary Annual Gala: Three Decades Together, One Future for Us All will take place virtually on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Signature Theatre will present the inaugural Signature Outstanding Artist Award to Resident Playwright Anna Deavere Smith.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company announced today that applications for the seventeenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters are now available. Applications will be accepted from June 1 - June 30, 2021. The winner will be selected in November of 2021.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the 2021 TCG 60th Anniversary Gala: Our Stories will be held virtually on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 7:30pm ET with an afterparty to follow. The Gala will honor Ricardo Khan and the Performing Arts Alliance, and both the Gala and virtual live afterparty will be hosted by drag superstar Shequida. 

The Alliance for Downtown New York, in association with En Garde Arts and The Tank  announced today additional details for Downtown Live, a new free performing arts festival. Over two weekends in May, Downtown Live's over 30 in-person shows will bring live art performances to unexpected places across Lower Manhattan.
