Spring's rebirth in March invites magical thoughts of budding romance. A beloved multi-award winning musical rom-com, She Loves Me, sings in the sunny emotions and weather at Anoka's Lyric Arts. The playful musical first ran on Broadway in 1963, and was translated from Miklos Laszlo's 1937 play "Parfumerie." Joe Masteroff's book partnered with music composed by Jerry Bock together with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, capture the perfect notes to a tangled romance between two store clerks, Amalia and Georg, in 1934 Budapest. The two clash on the small boutique's floor while unknowingly sending each other letters to 'Dear Friend (Yes, they used real snail mail).

The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players will honor Tony Award- Winning lyricist and NYGASP Honorary Board member, Sheldon Harnick as part of their Spring Gala Wednesday, May 2nd (6PM) at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South.) Mr. Harnick, best known for his incomparable Broadway productions of Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me, Fiorello!, and the Apple Tree, will be present to accept the award. The Actors Guild of Parkersburg will be bringing to life the classic story of a poor milkman and his five daughters, Fiddler on the Roof, in March! This show, the brainchild of Jerome Robbins and Harold Prince, debuted on Broadway in 1964 and went on to win nine Tony Awards. Featuring songs by Jerry Brock and Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Joseph Stein, this show has delighted audiences for over fifty years.

As magical as the evening was, after Freddie Gershon gave an impassioned presentation to the duo, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones hit the stage and brought the house down at ages 88 and 89 respectively. They joined forces onstage to perform a song from their musical The Bone Room, described by Jones as being about 'the pleasures of dying and being embalmed in this great country of ours.' Below, watch as they perform together for the last time. BWW feels privileged to share with you a bit of highlights of these two legends together before a rapt and ecstatic audience who precded to shower them with a (well deserved) standing ovation...
