THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION tells the story of two Catholic sisters whose faith is rocked after a visit from a young evangelist. To fight back, the women invite the missionary and their unsuspecting parish priest to a truly devilish dinner party, where they stage a theological showdown in this all-out questioning of faith and belief.

Florida Studio Theatre and the Selby Public Library will present a joint discussion on the popular book, film, and play, 'The 39 Steps.' The discussion will be led by Susan Rife, Books editor from the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and Sheffield Chastain, FST actor, and some additional cast members of 'The 39 Steps.' It is free to the public and will take place in Selby Public Library's Gelbhart Auditorium on December 16 at 2:00pm. Books are available at the library, and the Sarasota community is encouraged to read the book and watch the play.

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport officially opens its production of the comedy THE FOREIGNER tonight, January 24th. The show runs through February 22, 2009. THE FOREIGNER is set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia; 'Froggy' LeSeuer, a British demolition expert, has brought along his pathologically shy friend, Charlie. Before departing, 'Froggy' tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone, the fun really begins as Charlie overhears more than he should. Charlie's little white lie fuels the nonstop hilarity of this play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the 'bad guys.' This inspired comic romp was the winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.
