The American Theatre Guild has announced the Lubbock engagement of the highly anticipated AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN. The new musical AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, based on the Oscar-winning film and original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart, will be departing on a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season. 

AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, a new musical based on the Oscar-winning film and original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart, premieres tonight, Thursday, October 28 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas.

The new musical An Officer and a Gentleman, based on the Oscar-winning film and original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart, will be departing on a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season. 

The producers of the new musical AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, announced today that the world premiere will take place in Las Vegas at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on October 26-31, 2021 followed by a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season.

First an author, then the producer of such musical hits as Stormy Weather: The Story of Lena Horne, An American in Paris, and soon the international smash An Officer and a Gentleman, which she co-wrote and produced, Sharleen Cooper Cohen has been called a true Jewish Renaissance Woman.  Now she's going to tell virtual audiences how she does it all when she visits Sunday Morning with The Braid (formerly Jewish Women's Theatre) on March 14.

Amas Musical Theatre today announced the appointment of Tegan Summer as President, Board of Directors. Mr. Summer joins Sharleen Cooper Cohen (Chairperson), Ben Gadon (Treasurer) and Stephanie L. Rosenberg (Secretary) to comprise the Executive Committee. Also announced is new board member Linda Chichester.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts today announced the titles for the 2020-2021 Broadway at the Ordway season.

Award-winning director and choreographer Jonathan Cerullo (The Boys from Syracuse, Big Apple Circus), has been named an Artistic Associate at Amas Musical Theatre. Donna Trinkoff announced Cerullo will be joining SDC director and choreographer Christopher Scott and Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

Weinberger (1950-2017), who was a Drama Desk Award nominee for Best Book of a Musical (Wanda's World), and the playwright/librettist of Class Mothers '68, which earned Pricilla Lopez a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Emma Williams will play 'Paula Pokrifiki', Jonny Fines is 'Zack Mayo', Ray Shell as 'Foley', Ian Macintosh as 'Sid Worley' and Jessica Daley as 'Lynette Pomeroy'. The production will open at Curve on Friday 6 April 2018 with a national press night on Thursday 19 April before playing at theatres across the UK and Ireland until 15 September 2018.
