Transgender actress and activist Shakina Nayfack (who can be seen in the upcoming second season of Difficult People on Hulu this July) has launched a crowd funding campaign on YouCaring.com to raise money to bring her #MANIFESTPUSSY Tour to North Carolina this June. This campaign follows Nayfack's successful KickStartHer campaign, the world's first internationally crowd-sourced gender confirmation.

On Monday March 28th at 7:30 p.m., The Cutting Room will present "Not One More: Broadway Fighting Against Gun Violence" as a benefit concert for Americans for Responsible Solutions. The concert will feature acclaimed artists from the Broadway community including Jessica Vosk (Fiddler on the Roof), Jon Victor Corpuz (The King and I), The Skivvies, Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde), Shakina Nayfack, Alexander Sage Oyen, Ali Stroker (Spring Awakening),  and more to be announced.

The American Theatre Wing announced today that the 2016 Jonathan Larson Grants recipients are Cesar Alvarez (book, music and lyrics), Nikko Benson (music and lyrics), Carson Kreitzer (book and lyrics), and Sam Salmond (book, music, and lyrics). Four prestigious grants of $10,000 each, totaling $40,000, will be presented on Monday, March 21, 2016 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. The event will feature special performances of the recipients' work.

?New York's Lilly Award winning actress/ producer/ director and social activist, Shakina Nayfack joins the second season cast of Julie Klausner's Difficult People in Hulu's hit comedy series co-executive produced by Amy Poehler.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival's award-winning musical comedy about illegal immigration, will receive a workshop featuring student performers, along with members of the original New York cast.

Eddy Cavazos will step into the role of Manuel in the workshop of de la Puente and Davila's award-winning musicalMANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY when the curtain goes up tomorrow night at Princeton University. Cavazos, who had previously worked with Davila on ADAN Y JULIO, steps into the role as a last minute replacement for Gil Perez-Abraham whose film schedule made him unavailable at the final hour.

The Drama League will celebrate a major milestone tonight that few organizations have achieved…its 100th year of service to the American theatre community. Musical Theatre Factory in association with The Chelsea Symphony presented a gala concert event 'Get Yourself Some New Orchestrations,' the launch of an exciting new series which pairs emergent musical theatre writers with Broadway orchestrators to commission stunning new orchestrations of their shows.
