Daniel Craig to Take on OTHELLO Off-Broadway?

Daniel Craig, who last starred on Broadway opposite his wife Rachel Weisz in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL, recently expressed a desire to 'do some theater in New York' but not on Broadway. Well, someone was listening!

OR HOW I STARTED THE IRAQ WAR, will get its Off-Broadway premiere this Fall. Directed by Marshall Pailet with musical direction by Rona Siddiqui and choreography by Misha Shields, WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY? OR HOW I STARTED THE IRAQ WAR is based on a screenplay by J.T. Allen and will begin performances on September 26; opening October 4 and initially running through November 22, 2015 at the Actors Temple Theater (339 W 47th St.). Palm Beach Dramaworks to Launch 16th Season with PICNIC, 10/7-11/8

PICNIC, the 1953 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by William Inge about sexual repression, longing and disillusionment, and the narrow-minded limitations of life in a small Midwestern town, launches Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2015-2016 season on Friday, October 9 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

AMAZING GRACE Sets Fall Closing on Broadway; Will Take Its 'Sweet Sound' on Tour

BroadwayWorld has learned that AMAZING GRACE, the new musical playing at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street), will play its final performance on Sunday, October 25. On that date, the show will have played 24 preview performances and 114 regular performances. Good news, though -- a national tour of the production is being planned by Troika Entertainment, with more details to be announced!

When I heard mezzo Jamie Barton at the Metropolitan Opera's recital in Central Park in the summer of 2014, she would have knocked my socks off--if I hadn't been wearing sandals. This time around­--newly anointed winner of the 2015 Richard Tucker Award--at a concert presented by WQXR at New York's Greene Space in SoHo, I was wearing my argyles and, sure enough, I went home barefoot. Barton proved, once again, that she's “the real thing.”

After having worked together for over 7 years, Stuart Thompson and David Turner are forming a new general management company, Thompson Turner Productions, which will have King Charles III as its first Broadway credit and will continue to be a general management company for Broadway and touring shows.  Thompson will continue to produce under the umbrella of Stuart Thompson Productions.

Laoisa Sexton's THE PIGEON IN THE TAJ MAHAL Set for Irish Repertory Theatre's 'New Works Series'

Irish playwright and actress Laoisa Sexton's new play THE PIGEON IN THE TAJ MAHAL has been selected by the Irish Repertory Theatre for inclusion into it's esteemed Fall 2015 New Works Reading Series and will run on Friday, October 2 , 2015 at 3 pm at the DR2 Theatre, 103 East 15th Street in Union Square. The reading will be free of cost and open to the public but reservations are requested and strongly advised. Irish Rep's Reading Series to Open 10th Season with THE PIGEON IN THE TAJ MAHAL

The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) proudly begins the 10th season of its Reading Series with Laoisa Sexton's THE PIGEON IN THE TAJ MAHAL, directed by the Irish Rep's Literary Manager, Kara Manning.  The staged reading will take place on Friday, October 2 at 3pm at the DR2 Theater, 103 East 15th Street (the Irish Repertory Theatre's temporary home during current renovations).  The reading is FREE and open to the public.  An RSVP to the Irish Repertory Theatre Box Office at (212) 727-2737 is strongly suggested.

Haydn Gwynne, Stephen Bogardus, Lauren Molina and More Lead A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Beginning Tonight at Huntington

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work, led by Tony and Olivier nominee Haydn Gwynne, as well as Broadway's Stephen Bogardus and Lauren Molina. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Performances will run tonight, September 11, through October 11, 2015 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Broadway Couple Hunter Foster & Jennifer Cody Lead SPAMALOT, Beginning Tonight at Geva Theatre Center

PBD Announces Casting for PICNIC, THE HISTORY BOYS, and LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO THE NIGHT

Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce casting for its first three productions of the 2015-16 season, which will feature many familiar faces.
