Some of Australia's best musical talent will come together to present Voices for Change on Monday 28 September at The Sound Lounge, Seymour Centre. All proceeds go to charity organisation AusCam Freedom Project.

The evening will be hosted by Genevieve Lemon with leading musical theatre performers including Mo-Award winning Monique Montez, Mark Simpson (Hairspray), Mark Vincent (Dirty Dancing, Australia's Got Talent),Madeleine Jones (Once) and Lisa Schouw (Girl Overboard) joining emerging young artists accompanied by the Voices for Change band for an intimate night of music.

The AusCam Freedom Project is dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of young Cambodian women who have experienced trauma in their lives through violence, poverty, abandonment, homelessness, sexual exploitation or human trafficking. AusCam provide access to support services such as personal development classes & rehabilitative therapy as well as lessons in life-skills, creative arts & English classes.

"We are humbled to be able to assist the very important work of the AusCam Freedom Project and to have its founders Julie & Geoff Dowse present to tell us a little more about their mission to provide opportunity, choices and freedom to these young women so that they feel empowered, valued and supported." Meagan Caratti - Producer of Voices for Change and a survivor of domestic violence.

Having established the event in 2008, Meagan reveals why she's so passionate about child protection: "I don't believe you need a reason to want to protect children - it is their birthright to a safe place and our responsibility as adults to ensure their safety. It's about being brave enough to say hey - this happened, and I refuse to buy into the shaming so often heaped on kids to stay silent about situations beyond their control. If that means sharing my story to help & inspire others - so be it. I began Voices for Change as a way to give a voice to the voiceless and to raise awareness and much needed funds for children in need of the basic human rights of food, shelter, education and a safe place to be themselves".

All the performers have given their time with all proceeds going to AusCam Freedom Project.
