Stuart Thompson & David Turner Partnering for New Broadway Management Company

After having worked together for over 7 years, Stuart Thompson and David Turner are forming a new general management company, Thompson Turner Productions, which will have King Charles III as its first Broadway credit and will continue to be a general management company for Broadway and touring shows. Thompson will continue to produce under the umbrella of Stuart Thompson Productions.

Stuart Thompson began his general management career on Broadway in 1989 with Aaron Sorkin's play, A Few Good Men, produced by two of his mentors, the late Robert Whitehead and Lewis Allen. His company has gone on to general manage 68 Broadway shows, including Master Class, Tru with Robert Morse, A Doll's House with Janet McTeer, the Broadway premieres of David Hare's Skylight, The Judas Kiss, The Blue Room, Amy's View, and The Vertical Hour, Yasmina Reza's Art and Life Times Three, Patrick Marber's Closer, Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out, a revival of August Wilson's Fences, and John Patrick Shanley's Doubt, as well as Faith Healer with Cherry Jones, Ralph Fiennes and Ian McDiarmid.

In 2008, David Turner joined Stuart Thompson Productions as a general manager and has since worked in that capacity on The Seagull, starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Boeing Boeing and Jerusalem with Mark Rylance, the National Tour of A Bronx Tale, You're Welcome America with Will Ferrell, the revival of Lend Me A Tenor, God of Carnage, Next Fall, and the revival of Fences. Most recently, he has been general manager for Stuart Thompson Productions of all US companies of The Book of Mormon, for which Thompson serves as Executive Producer, and a consulting general manager on the London production.

Prior to joining Stuart Thompson Productions, David Turner served in a management capacity on many Off Broadway and Broadway shows including Nunsense, The Destiny Of Me, Visiting Mr. Green, I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change (New York, Boston, and Chicago), and Show Boat (Toronto, New York, and Chicago) and Barrymore for Livent Inc. During this time he also co-founded and served as Producing Director for the Adirondack Theatre Festival from 1995 to 2007, and continues to serve on its Board. At ATF he produced over 50 new and contemporary plays and musicals, and also led the renovation of a vacant Woolworths store in Glens Falls, NY into a $4 million, 300-seat theater that opened in 2004. A graduate of The University of Michigan, David has also worked for NYSF/The Public Theatre, Circle Repertory Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, Spoleto Festival USA and is a member of the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers as well as the Broadway League where he serves on several committees.

Beginning with Simon McBurney's production of The Chairs in 1998, Stuart Thompson began his producing career on Broadway in addition to general management, having since produced 26 other shows including The Tale Of The Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, Proof by David Auburn, Yasmina Reza's God Of Carnage, Exit The King with Geoffrey Rush, A View from the Bridge (2010) with Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson, Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Motherf-er with the Hat, Death of a Salesman (2012) with Philip Seymour Hoffman, directed by Mike Nichols, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by Rob Ashford starring Scarlett Johansson, Waiting for Godot and No Man's Land in repertory, directed by Sean Mathias and starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart and, currently the National Theatre's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Simon Stephens which received 5 Tony awards in 2015. His next production, King Charles III, is written by Mike Bartlett, author of Cock, which Thompson previously produced Off Broadway. King Charles III, having been co-produced by Thompson in London last season where it received the Olivier Award for Best New Play, begins previews at the Music Box Theatre on October 10.
