Delinquent Theatre presents the romantic and heart-wrenching world premiere of Never the Last, April 9-20, 2019, as part of the SeeMore Theatre Series at Vancouver Civic Theatre's Annex (823 Seymour Street). Inspired by the life story of Sophie-Carmen Eckhardt-Gramatte, an enormously innovative early twentieth century composer, the drama follows her 10-year marriage with the celebrated expressionist painter Walter Gramatte. Set to a live score of Eckhardt-Gramatte's solo violin works, the multimedia presentation blends movement and text to tell a heartbreaking tale of adventure, poverty, and strife.

'Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations' opened last night, March 21, at Broadway's legendary Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).

Award-winning comedian Damian Callinan's hit one-man show The Merger comes full circle and returns to the stage for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 9-21 April. The season follows the tale's hugely successful, 2018 feature film adaptation - starring Kate Mulvany, John Howard and Callinan himself - where it was shortlisted for the Cinefest Oz Prize, scored multiple AACTA nominations and rave reviews, reverently compared by critics to cult Aussie classics such as The Castle.

Get ready 'cause here they come! Ain't Too Proud, which tells the story of Motown's legendary Temptations, is opening tonight at Broadway's Imperial Theatre! To celebrate, we've collected some of the group's most iconic songs from their expansive library spanning over five decades and put them into a playlist so you can have sunshine even on a cloudy day. CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE is bringing the deliciously southern play 'THE CAKE' to it's stage April 4-21. Written by Bekah Brunstetter, Supervising Producer of NBC's hit show 'THIS IS US', this timely comedy comes to CFRT after successful runs throughout the country, including making its regional premier at Brunstetter's alma matter UNC-Chapel Hill (PlayMakers Repertory Company). CFRT will present the show just a few days after the highly acclaimed Off-Broadway run at the Manhattan Theatre Club closes. CFRT is among some of the first regional theatres to produce 'THE CAKE', proving its place as one of North Carolina's premiere theatres.

The Morgan-Wixson Mainstage presents the beloved musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors. Directed by D'Shaun A. Booker and produced by Spencer Johnson with musical direction by Esin Aydingoz and choreography by Mori Edwards, this classic hit opens March 16 and runs through April 13. The cast features (in alphabetical order): Matt Artson, Tyra Dennis, Steven Flowers, FreXinet, Jess LaFever, Patrick Olsen, Marc Ostroff, Brian O'Sullivan, and Brayon Rollison. 

Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that the eighth annual Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards (IHSMTA) will be held at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) on Monday, May 6, 2019, hosted by NBC 5's entertainment reporter LeeAnn Trotter and sponsored by CHICAGO THE MUSICAL (which will play at the Cadillac Palace Theatre from May 7-12). The Illinois chapter of The Jimmy Awards (National High School Musical Theatre Awards) one of the largest programs in the country serves as an annual national celebration of outstanding achievement in musical theater performance by high school students.

The Television Academy Foundation announced the winners of the 39th College Television Awards, which recognizes and rewards excellence in student-produced programs from colleges and universities nationwide.

It's always fun to see the dynamic of two Broadway superstars interacting as themselves onstage instead of a character. This show ranks pretty high for me. The setlist had a high number of songs from two of my favorite musicals - Waitress and The Last Five Years, and included a number of hits from her career along with the compellingly interesting and original numbers she brought to the stage. I'm just glad JJ stole her diary and not mine because yikes. 

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations will make its national late-night television debut on NBC's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' on Thursday, March 21st. This televised performance will tape mere moments before the new Broadway musical's Opening Night performance is scheduled to begin.

Los Angeles Ballet (LAB), the city's own and only professional classical ballet company, celebrates its Season 13 Gala on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. This year's honorees are Johnese Spisso, President of UCLA Health, CEO UCLA Hospital System and Associate Vice Chancellor, UCLA Health Services who will receive the Global Impact Award and actress and singer Sofia Carson, who will receive the Los Angeles Ballet Ambassador Award.

Twenty-one young opera singers who have won regional auditions around the United States will compete in the semifinal round of the country's leading vocal competition, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, on Sunday, March 24. The closed semifinal competition, held on the Met stage before a panel of judges, will determine the select group of finalists who will advance to the final round of the competition-the Grand Finals, which is open to the public and will be held on the Met stage on Sunday, March 31.

The Arts & Culture Collaborative (ACC), Waterbury Region is hosting an art and performance showcase, called  Out for Art, at Seven Angels Theatre, 1 Plank Road, Waterbury, on March 21 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The event is open to ACC members and the public.

Trinity Rep will continue its 2018-19 Season with the perennially-popular Little Shop of Horrors an award-winning musical that blends doo-wop, rock, and Motown in a totally twisted production about what lengths we are willing to go to when we are down on our luck.

It's the right time to resurrect the 1982 off-Broadway phenomenon LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. It's a catchy little musical that says a lot about greed combined with materialism, and it reminds audiences of how brilliant Howard Ashman and Alan Menken have always been.

Utah Opera Artistic Director Christopher McBeth has announced the programming, initial casting, and creative teams for the company's 2019-20 season, which comprises four opera productions at the newly renovated Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre. Featuring improved seating and sightlines on the orchestra level, the theatre reopens after a six-month closure for the company's season-opening production of Verdi's La traviata in October 2019. The season continues with composer Kevin Puts and librettist Mark Campbell's Silent Night in January 2020, Rossini's The Barber of Seville in March 2020, and Massenet's Tha s in May 2020. Silent Night is presented as part of Utah Opera's American Opera Initiative, through which the company champions and commissions American contributions to the art form. Both Silent Night and Tha s are Utah Opera premieres.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will present Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, 1976–1986, an exhibition that explores the punk and post-punk movements through the lens of graphic design. The exhibition, on view from April 9 through August 18, 2019, will feature more than four hundred of punk's most memorable graphics, including flyers, posters, album covers, promotions, zines, and other ephemera.
