Due to strong advance sales, Cherry Lane Theatre will add three performances to Jocelyn Bioh's NOLLYWOOD DREAMS, the final presentation of its Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT. 

Rebecca Crigler (Mike Birbiglia's Thank God for Jokes, Chris Gethard: Career Suicide) will present award-winning writer/performer Iris Bahr ('Curb Your Enthusiasm,' 'Svetlana,' DAI) in her new, tragi-comic play I Lost You There at Cherry Lane's Studio Theatre.

Cherry Lane (Angelina Fiordellisi, Founding Artistic Director; Seri Lawrence, Janio Marrero, Producing Artistic Directors) is proud to announce this year's playwrights and mentors for their Obie Award-winning Mentor Project, culminating with fully-staged productions presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St. in NYC) from February 22 to May 6, 2017.  

Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) will present its second annual week-long education program, CHERRY LANE SCHOOL - featuring panel discussions and workshop sessions with leading figures in the professional theatre - from October 24 to 28 at Cherry Lane Theatre. 

On Thursday, June 16 at 7PM, Cherry Lane Theatre will host Soiree Fantastique!, a special benefit evening that will include a performance of the world premiere of Israel Horovitz's Out of the Mouths of Babes, starring Oscar winner and five-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey, along with Angelina Fiordellisi (Zorba on Broadway opposite Anthony Quinn) and Francesca Choy-Kee (Disgraced). The performance at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) will be followed by a post-show discussion with the cast moderated by best-selling novelist Adriana Trigiani; a fete with French cuisine, wines, and music and an exclusive photo opportunity with the cast. In its first 50 years, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded more than $5 billion in grants to recipients in every state and U.S. jurisdiction, the only arts funder in the nation to do so. Today, the NEA announced awards totaling more than $27.6 million in its first funding round of fiscal year 2016, including an Art Works award of $20,000 to Cherry Lane Theatre to Mentor Project.

MENTOR PROJECT - the Cherry Lane Theatre's Obie-winning program for new playwrights - will mark another milestone this year when three emerging writers are mentored by three previous Mentored Playwrights from the program's early years, with fully-staged productions presented by Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St. in NYC) from February 24 to April 23, 2016 it has been announced by the theater's Producing Artistic Director, Angelina Fiordellisi.

Ingmar Bergman's NORA -- an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic drama A DOLL'S HOUSE -- will be given its English-language New York debut Off-Broadway this fall when Austin Pendleton directs the production at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.), with previews set to begin November 14 prior to an official press opening November 22. The five-week production runs through December 12. NORA is produced by Cherry Lane Theatre in association with La Femme Theatre Productions. 

LESSER AMERICA presents the world premiere of THE BACHELORS by Caroline V. McGraw (The Vaults), directed by Portia Krieger (Fun Home Associate Director, Baby Screams Miracle) at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place, NYC) now playing through November 29th, 2015. CATCH THE BUTCHER - a new play by Adam Seidel about what happens when a single woman sets off to find the serial killer of other single women - will be given its Off-Broadway premiere this fall when Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) kicks off its 92nd anniversary season with the production, directed by Valentina Fratti. Opening night is set for tonight, September 29, 2015.
