BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON Plays The Public Theatre, Previews 3/23/2010

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announces a return engagement of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the critically acclaimed rock musical that played a sold-out run last spring as part of the Public's Public LAB season.

Celebration Theatre Presents THE WOMEN OF BREWSTER PLACE. Previews 4/21

Celebration Theatre is thrilled to present the West Coast Premiere of a brand new musical, THE WOMEN OF BREWSTER PLACE - The Musical, with music, book and lyrics by Tim Acito (Zanna, Don't), choreography by Ameenah Kaplan (Altar Boyz, Frosty the Snow Manilow), musical direction by Greg Nabours (A New Brain), directed by Michael Matthews (Haram Iran, Beautiful Thing) and produced for Celebration Theatre by David Tarlow.

Cleveland Play House Ends Run of EMMA3/21

A world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's romantic comedy Emma by Artistic Director Michael Bloom will end its run at the Cleveland Play House on March 21st.

Kathleen Turner Leads RED HOT PATRIOT: THE KICK-ASS WIT OF MOLLY IVINS, 3/19-4/18

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that two-time Tony Award-nominee and film actress Kathleen Turner will star in the world premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel.  Directed by award-winning director David Esbjornson, this one-woman play based on the writings of the late political journalist Molly Ivins will take the slot previously slated for Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. 'Red Hot Patriot' runs March 19 - April 18, 2010.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Set for Cabrillo Music Theatre, 4/23-5/2

A tuneful, funny musical score meets a giant man-eating plant when Cabrillo Music Theatre's production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS devours the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, with a hit movie and a Broadway revival to its credit, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS takes root on Friday, April 23rd, 2010, and blossoms until Sunday, May 2nd. Locally produced exclusively for Southern California audiences, performances take place at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

NY Philharmonic's Star Studded SONDHEIM: THE BIRTHDAY CONCERT to Feature LuPone, Peters, Cerveris, Patinkin, McDonald & More, 3/16

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

Public Theatre's BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON Previews 3/23

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced complete casting today for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the critically acclaimed rock musical that returns to The Public after a sold-out run last spring as part of The Public's Public LAB season. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is written and directed by Alex Timbers and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Previews begin on Tuesday, March 23 and will continue through Sunday, April 25 with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 6.

Papermill Playhouse's LOST IN YONKERS Will Close 3/14

Paper Mill Playhouse will close its production of Lost in Yonkers on March 14th. Directed by Michael Bloom, Lost in Yonkers began performances at the Millburn Theater on February 17th and opened February 21st. Lost in Yonkers was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Long Wharf Theatre's SYLVIA Closes 3/14

Beloved playwright A.R. Gurney, a Connecticut resident and author of the plays The Cocktail Hour, The Dining Room and Love Letters, returns to Long Wharf Theatre with his hit comedy Sylvia.

Andak Stage Presents LIBERTY INN: THE MUSICAL

Averett, Noonan, Pearce & More Set for Epic Theatre's THE PASSION PLAY, 4/27-5/30

New York's OBIE Award-winning Epic Theatre Ensemble (Zak Berkman, Melissa Friedman, Ron Russell, Founding Executive Directors) today announced the cast and creative team for the New York premiere of Sarah Ruhl's Passion Play (In The Next Room… or the vibrator play) and directed by Mark Wing-Davey (The Singing Forest). Wojewodski to Direct Beckett's ENDGAME at Undermain Theatre

Undermain Theatre presents the fourth and final production of its 26thseason: Samuel Beckett's iconic masterpiece ENDGAME directed by Stan Wojewodski, Jr. presented at Undermain Theatre, 3200 Main Street in Dallas. The production begins performances on Saturday, April 10 and runs through Saturday May 8. This is a rare opportunity to see this seminal work.

THE RIVER WHY Closes 3/7 at Book-It Rep

-Book-It fans have requested The River Why for many years and, just in time to include the work in the 20th Anniversary season-long celebration, the company was granted rights and a relationship was forged with author David James Duncan. The River Why plays on Book-It Repertory Theatre's stage at the Center House Theatre February 9 through March 7, 2010.
