Renee Fleming Stars in the Met Premiere of Rossini's ARMIDA 4/12

Rossini's rarely performed Armida has its Met premiere on April 12 with a gala performance of Mary Zimmerman's new production. Renowned soprano Renée Fleming stars as the mythological sorceress, Armida, one of the greatest virtuoso roles from the bel canto repertory. Fleming is joined by Lawrence Brownlee, who sings Armida's chief love interest, Rinaldo, and five more tenors in the roles of the crusader knights. José Manuel Zapata portrays Rinaldo's deadly rival Gernando.

The Wilma Theater Closes the Curtain on LANGUAGE ROOMS, 4/4

The Wilma Theater will close the curtain on the World Premiere production of Language Rooms, a black comedy that exposes the divided loyalties among today's immigrants, discovering the rising cost of the American Dream, on April 4th. The play, from rising Arab-American playwright Yussef El Guindi, is directed by the Wilma's co-Artistic Director Blanka Zizka.

PALESTINE Ends Run April 3 at East 4th Street Theatre

PALESTINE, a new play written and performed by Najla Saïd - an actress, writer and daughter of the late Palestinian-American scholar and activist Edward Saïd - will play its final performance on April 3.

THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE Premieres at South Coast Rep, 3/25-4/25

The Language Archive, written by Julia Cho will be running through April 25 at the South Coast Repertory Theatre. Recipient of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the show features Leo Marks, Betsy Brandt, Laura Heisler, Tony Amendola and Linda Gehringer.

TEMPERAMENTALS' Urie and Marans Set For "New Directions for Gay Theatre" 4/11

South Coast Rep Presents Cho's THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE, 3/26-4/25

Julia Cho's THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE will receive its premiere at the South Coast Repertory Theatre as a part of their 2010 season. The show received a reading in 2009 as a part of SCR's Pacific Playwrights Festivals. The show will be directed by Mark Brokaw and will play March 26th to April 25th at the Segerstrom Stage.

Kennedy Center Announces Additional Casting for MASTER CLASS

The Kennedy Center today announced additional casting for Terrence McNally's Master Class. Joining the previously announced Tyne Daly as Maria Callas is Jeremy Cohen as Manny, Laquita Mitchell as Second Soprano (Sharon), Ta'u Pupu'a as Tenor (Tony), and Alexandra Silber as First Soprano (Sophie).

Roundabout Announces New Plays by Cho and Rosentock
