TheatreWorks Presents TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, 4/7-5/9

Celebrating fifty years since the original publication of this stunning American masterpiece, TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theater of Silicon Valley, presents TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, dramatized by Christopher Sergel and based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee.

DCTC Set for MAMA HATED DIESELS, OTHELLO & MARIELA IN THE DESERT

The Denver Center Theatre Company completes the 2009/2010 season with Mama Hated Diesels - a Denver Center World Premiere musical by Randal Myler and Dan Wheetman, an intimate setting of William Shakespeare's Othello and the winner of the National Latino Playwriting Award - Mariela in the Desert by Karen Zacarías.

Circle X Theatre Presents LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING; Opens March 27

On a secluded Greek island, an American ex-pat pursues his passions: winemaking and his breathtaking young wife. Then, on the eve of his first tasting, an old lover reappears bringing with her a wild and violent past. Circle X Theatre Co. presents the Debut Production of Lascivious Something by Sheila Callaghan. Paul Willis directs Alana Dietze, Olivia Henry, Silas Weir Mitchell and Alina Phelan in a six-week run opening March 27 at [Inside] the Ford. Low-priced previews begin March 18.

Seattle Repertory Theatre Presents FENCES; Previews 3/26, Opening Night 3/31

Seattle Repertory Theatre celebrates the 25th anniversary of August Wilson's beloved story of baseball and family, Fences. The play is being staged in a number of notable productions across the country, including on Broadway next month. Seattle Rep's production, which plays March 26-April 18, 2010, is proud to include Wilson's widow Constanza Romero as the costume designer.

Walker et al. Lead Public Theatre's BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON; Opens 3/23

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced complete casting today for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the critically acclaimed rock musical that returns to The Public after a sold-out run last spring as part of The Public's Public LAB season. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is written and directed by Alex Timbers and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Previews begin on Tuesday, March 23 and will continue through Sunday, April 25 with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 6.

Said's PALESTINE Extends 2 Weeks at East 4th Street Theatre

PALESTINE, a new play written and performed by Najla Saïd - an actress, writer and daughter of the late Palestinian-American scholar and activist Edward Saïd - has been extended for two weeks - now through April 3 - it has been announced by Sturgis Warner and Louis D. Moreno, co-artistic directors of the Twilight Theatre Company, which is presenting the world-premiere of the play in association with New York Theatre Workshop at the East 4th Street Theatre (83 E. 4 St.) in Manhattan.
