New Century Theatre Company Presents ON THE NATURE OF DUST

New Century Theatre Company (NCTC), under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Hans Altwies and Paul Morgan Stetler, with Executive Director Michael Patten, launches its second season with company playwright Stephanie Timm's world premiere play On the Nature of Dust, directed by Kathleen Collins.

THE RIVER WHY Comes to Book-It Rep Beginning February 9

-Book-It fans have requested The River Why for many years and, just in time to include the work in the 20th Anniversary season-long celebration, the company was granted rights and a relationship was forged with author David James Duncan. The River Why plays on Book-It Repertory Theatre's stage at the Center House Theatre February 9 through March 7, 2010.

Public's BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON Tix Go On Sale 2/9

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced that tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9, for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the critically acclaimed rock musical that played a sold-out run last spring as part of the Public's Public LAB season.

LIDLESS Closes at Jones Playhouse

In a unique collaboration, University of Washington School of Drama in association with Seattle Repertory Theatre will workshop a new play using both professional actors and UW graduate students, under the direction of Seattle Rep Associate Artistic Director Braden Abraham. The show will close on February 7, 2010.

Medecine Show Theatre's A CABLE FROM GIBRALTAR Opens 2/6

A CABLE FROM GIBRALTAR, the unusual new comedy by Daniel Meltzer about the intersecting lives of two couples over a lifetime, their good fortune and bad choices, literally from cradle to creeping decrepitude, opens Saturday evening, February 6, 2010, at 8 PM for 17 performances at the Medicine Show Theatre.

Previews Begin for Twilight Theatre's PALESTINE, 2/6

PALESTINE, a new play written and performed by Najla Saïd - an actress, writer and daughter of the late Palestinian-American scholar and activist Edward Saïd - will be given its world-premiere Off-Broadway in a production by Twilight Theatre Company in association with New York Theatre Workshop, with previews beginning February 6, 2010 prior to an official press opening February 17 at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street between Second Avenue and Bowery) in Manhattan.

Seattle Repertory Theatre Presents GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS 2/5-28

First prize is a Cadillac. Second prize is steak knives. Third prize? You're fired. Seattle Repertory Theatre presents 'Glengarry Glen Ross,' David Mamet's Pulitzer-prize-winning drama about a group of tough-talking Chicago real estate agents in the midst of a high-stakes sales competition. R. Hamilton Wright and John Aylward ('ER') lead an all-star cast of some of Seattle's finest actors for the run of the show, February 5-28, 2010, in Seattle Rep's Bagley Wright Theatre.

Seattle Reps' GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS Opens Tonight, February 5

Gary Cole will lead Seattle Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross as Ricky Roma. The production will run from February 5 - February 28 in the Bagley Wright Theatre. Wilson Milam directs (The Seafarer).

Marin Theatre Company Presents WOODY GUTHRIE'S AMERICAN SONG

Marin Theatre Company presents a revival of Woody Guthrie's American Song in its Boyer Theatre May 27 through June 20, 2010. Conceived, adapted and directed by Peter Glazer, this musical has been pleasing audiences since its premiere in 1988. It won the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for best musical in its co-production at Berkeley Rep and San Jose Repertory Theatre in 1992.

South Coast Rep Announces Search for Artistic Director

Forty-six years after founding South Coast Repertory, David Emmes and Martin Benson have decided it is time to begin the search for their successor. They have greenlighted a detailed leadership transition plan that is set to culminate later in the year with the naming of a new Artistic Director to join the leadership team.

OEDIPUS EL REY Plays the Magic Theatre, 2/3-2/28

Magic Theatre, San Francisco's home for new plays, kicks off the new year with the world premiere of Oedipus el Rey by Luis Alfaro, directed by Loretta Greco. Oedipus el Rey, a reimagined classic, opens February 3rd, 2010.

Kennedy Center Announces Additional Casting for MASTER CLASS

The Kennedy Center today announced additional casting for Terrence McNally's Master Class. Joining the previously announced Tyne Daly as Maria Callas is Jeremy Cohen as Manny, Laquita Mitchell as Second Soprano (Sharon), Ta'u Pupu'a as Tenor (Tony), and Alexandra Silber as First Soprano (Sophie).

Lee, Monk, Ross & Wilson End Run of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE 1/31

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Michele Lee (Tale of the Allergist's Wife), Tony Award-winner Debra Monk (Curtains), Tracee Ellis Ross ('Girlfriends') and Casey Wilson ('Saturday Night Live') will join the rotating cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore. They join the show January 6 through January 31, 2009, alongside the returning Katie Finneran. Love, Loss, and What I Wore, an intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, directed by Karen Carpenter and based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman, opened October 1, 2009 to rave reviews at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street, NYC) and has been extended through March 2010.
